I am thinking about getting a CZ sxs in 20ga. My concern is a friend warned he heard the internal mechanics of these guns was unreliable. Because of that I was leaning toward the double trigger Bobwhite model. The single trigger is also selective and has to be more complicated. I tried to learn more about what went wrong and guess he forgets. So; I will ask here. Opinions on CZ doubles?

BTW, They have a real cute looking 28ga with 26" bbls at 5.6 pounds. Very tempting. The 20ga, with 26" barrel is 6.0 pounds and seems about the ideal trade-off in weight vs power. And, for some totally stupid reason the 28 Bobwhite cost $200 more! As much as I like to save 1/2 pound there is the principle of the thing.
I've owned Bobwhites and a canvasback is used by my hunting buddy - never an issue.

I bought a Bobwhite 20ga for hunting out here on the salt marshes and it has proved to be a nice little rig. I only have about a case of 3" steel loads and a case of skeet loads through it but it has been reliable. I like it.
Have a Ringneck in 20 gauge and it has digested thousands of rounds with narry a hiccup. Very srongly made and well fitted.
Thank you, that is good to hear. I would like to try one.
I've owned several of the little CZ Doubles Or Side by Sides from .410's up to 20ga. Very well made, super reliable, & a real pleasure to carry in the field on the small gauge frames. My favorites are the 28ga models. Never had any problems with any of them.
The 28 Bobwhite is tempting, price gouge and all. I think what happened is that the introduction of 3" cases for the 20 has resulted in all the 20's being a heavier gun. Lets pray, no genius decides to hot rod the 28.

One of the local shops has a 28 BW on the shelf. Very tempting. Claims the 20's been going out as fast as they come it. They got two more 20's on order. One friend got me a little spooked on the brand.
I have had two cz ringnecks one had a safety like a red label, the other is like a beretta.....I kept the beretta style one and it is a flawless performer.
I'v had the 20ga Bobwhite for 7 years and it has been flawless, I find them to be a lot of gun for the money.
