Shopping for a new duck gun. Any opinions? Thanks, Rick

My duck hunting buddy & son bought A5's and no issues in their 1 year of use.

I would buy one over the remington hoping it is a more mature design. I've seen a couple versa max issues on target ranges to make me suspect. Also the remington auto loader product design cycles seem to come often enough to make you wonder if its some guns are production problem children.

Having said that... the new light weight versa max they are releasing looks promising.

35, one of my good friends has purchased a Versa_Max.. He loves the thing and it so far, has never failed to shoot the ammo he stuffs into it.. Another friend who is into autoloading shotguns, and has some hign end stuff, recommended the Versa Max over other models.. Seems he was right so far..

I'll add that one of our younger deer hunters duck hunts with one and likes it.

I think a A5 is inertia operated where Versa Max is gas operated so that adds to the decision process.
