I recently purchased 2 used Remington Wingmasters (a 20 and a 12). Both guns are old but are in excellant condition with very minimal wear. The 20 has a factory butt pad but the 12 has an aftermarket pad that is poorly fit. (Probably appears worse because I can be a bit of a perfectionist)

I purchased a hogue Wingmaster butt pad from midway and it is too small in diameter exposing the rear of the stock. Does anyone have any idea what option would be best to get a perfect fit. I don't care about lots of recoil absorption but would like the pad nicely fit.

Also I'm just north of Austin, Tx if anyone has any gunsmith recommendations that might be able to grind/fit a pad.

Thanks for the help. -Elijah
Only way to go is a grind to fit. Either buy a combination sander for around $100 and do it yourself or hand it off to any decent smith. Plenty of youtube videos out there on how to do it yourself.
Cool thanks. I think that's the route I've decided to take. The stock dimensions are 5x1.75 which is a small grind to fit pad. Would you get one size bigger to have some room to play? Current job looks like something I would do. I will definetly get a local smith to do the job. -Elijah
Just take it to a Smith and let him him pick the pad size (as far as S M L, you pick the thickness). If you go too big, you can actually grind too far down into the aluminum base peice. Did that on my first one.
Unless you are very skilled with doing such work, highly recommend you take it to a pro that has fitted hundreds of these things. One boo-boo and you could screw up your stock and/or have something that looks like a first-timer trying to fit a recoil pad.
You can also buy original Remington takeoff pads on eBay that are in good condition.
PM our own Redneck, he can really grind a pad. Plus the fee is fair and hes fast.

As others have said, farm it out if you want it done right.
Dropped it off with a Smith last week. $85 including the pad. He showed some other work which was seamless and impressive so
I decided to have it done right.

Nailed some rabbits with my new Wingmaster 20 yesterday outside of Austin. I feel like my Wingmaster collection is going to grow.
Good move, there REALLY hard to beat. Post a pic sometime
Still trying to figure out this picture thing. Was able to acquire a used 18.5 wingmaster barrel with fixed cylinder. I would like to trade it for a fixed full if anyone has any interests.
