What's going on with 30% off? Markups are usually around 20-25% on new rifles and shotguns.
Probably no one wants one. I didnt know Franchi was still in business. I thought they went out of business a few years ago, but maybe not.
Huh?
Franchi shotguns are alive and well. They've been hot sellers in the waterfowl hunting world of late.
Beretta owns Franchi and it is not going anywhere as a brand

Right… Benelli is owned by Beretta too. I suppose Benelli isn't going anywhere as a brand either.
FWIW, I'd read the fine print on their $300 discount offer. Co-worker recently drove to Cabela's (Dundee, 125 miles round-trip) to buy an advertised gun with a big discount. He stood in line for over a half-hour only to find out it and several other advertised guns were sold out and un-available for purchase. He asked about honoring the price for a purchase when they had them back in stock and advised no, the discount price was only good for those on hand when the door opened; maybe they had 5 of them at that price?

We went through this drill couple weeks ago with some closeout scopes Cabelas was offering on-line at deep discount. Many of us ordered the scopes and a week later advised that our orders were cancelled. I only read in the threads of one person actually getting one of the scopes.

Franchi are perfectly good shotguns by the way. Probably not mainstream sellers but quite serviceable.
Yep cabelas and bass pro use that trick to lure people in .
Could be the store simply wants to move what they already have in inventory sitting in the rack collecting dust. Maybe the shotgun hunting season is winding down and those camo/black shotguns aren't selling well at this point. Maybe the store knows the manufacturer is dropping a certain model and/or bring out something new for the next year and they discount the old stock taking up rack space to make room for the new models. Everything isn't always a conspiracy.
I bought one a few months back and they are a nice gun, kick like hell but its the same inertia system that benelli uses.
A friend took the Cabela's ad to a local Gander Mountain and they did a price match for him after Cabela's had sold out of the listed gun.
