Anyone have any experience with one of these? Or any Hastings barrels? Or any other slug barrels. Want to put one on an 870 and remington slug barrel reviews are so hit or miss. Thanks
No experience with the slug barrel, but I have a Hastings barrel for my Browning Auto 5 and really like it. Use it for trap often.

I have the heavy 26" slug barrel for my 870. It works great. Hastings makes some good barrels in my experience. I have put several of their regular vented rib shotgun barrels on Model 12's and have had them work perfect as well.
I didn't know they still make the heavy barrel...Hastings closed down at one point and re-opened, but last I checked {a few months at least} they don't manufacture all the barrels they used to. It seemed like the new ones were very limited. When they did make the heavy barrel it wasn't many and it wasn't for long...I had a hard time finding and buying the one I have, in fact it is the only one I have ever seen live and in person as well as for sale and have been looking for another ever since. Good luck.
I have never seen one. I only heard of it from the Hastings website. $385 for their heavy 870 barrel.

I have an older (10 years +/-) Hastings slug barrel on my 870 Magnum. I have only found one brand of slugs that it shoots well (2-3 inches at 100 yards). I don't think this is uncommon with slug barrels.

Pretty pricy for a slug bbl , I think i would spend another $100 or so and get a Savage 220 20 ga. They are an honest 250 yd gun . 1 -1 1/2" groups with Remington Accutips
