Has anyone replaced the factory recoil on a Benelli Montefeltro 20. Gun is my primary bird gun and I would like a bit more LOP and recoil reduction for practicing on clays. I want something nice looking that also utilizes the same screw pattern. It will be installed by my gunsmith. Thanks.
Just ask your gunsmith... smile
But I'm a millennial control freak who has to tell other people how to do their jobs....
Well, first, is it walnut or synthetic?
Walnut
Those original pads are already 1" thick.. How much added length do you need?? Yeah, they look like crap, but have you considered just adding a slip-on pad to (1) give you the LOP you need and (2) save you a bunch of bux?
Here's some at Brownell's that are designed especially for the Benelli... but some are for the synthetic stock.. I think the others are for the walnut versions..

IF so, (and a quick call to them will give you the answer) those for the walnut stocks are easily replaceable by you and require no other gunsmith intervention..

The original pad on a 20 gauge Montefeltro is 1/2 inch and the LOP is 14 1/4.

This pad is 15/16ths and would get me to 14 3/4. I think I'll try it.
