Minox 6.5x32 BD IF Waterproof & Fogproof Roof Prism Binocular with 8.0-Degree Angle of View (Individual Focus) @ $199.99

OK, Back by Popular demand. I will be offering this binocular thru the end of the month as a Special Holiday Promotion @ $199.99.

MINOX binoculars with Individual Focus combine high performance, robustness and easy handling
Optics experts and outdoor specialists choose binoculars with six-fold magnification as their clear favorite for keeping details in view from a medium and long distance, when in woodlands and out in the field. The MINOX BD 6,5x32 IF is the ideal partner for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts, which has been specially designed to meet the specific needs of this target group. The design of these new MINOX binoculars perfectly coordinates high performance, ruggedness and easy handling.

This has been made possible through the consistent application of trend-setting technologies. "Set and forget", thats the principle applied when focusing the BD 6,5x32 IF; its compact design permits easy operation with one hand, and this is where IF stands for convenient individual focusing of the two eyepieces. Once the binoculars have been adjusted to the users eyes, no further focusing of any kind is required. With the mechanics and operation reduced to concentrate on essentials like this, the binoculars are exceptionally robust and simply indestructible.

Modern roof prisms were the basis for the design of this highly compact, elegantly shaped and lightweight metal body. With rubber armoring it is exceptionally resistant and good to hold and it is even watertight to a depth of five meters. The extra-long eye relief of 19 millimeters provide real convenience, and with an exit pupil diameter of five millimeters eyes have plenty of scope to keep objects in sight during the day, also guaranteeing a brighter image in twilight. With the additional folding rubber eyecups they also allow people wearing glasses to enjoy the entire field of view of 130 meters.

The design of the BD 6,5x32 IF is based on advanced characteristic features familiar from the latest models in the MINOX binocular program. Aspherical lenses enhance high contrast and detail rendition through an outstanding resolution right into the edges. A phase correction coating on the prisms increases the contrast of the image during viewing, even in dim twilight. Inside the body there is an argon gas filling which prevents fogging of the glass surfaces and additionally provides corrosion protection. Like all MINOX binoculars, the BD 6,5x32 IF also feature a multi-layer coating on all air/glass surfaces for optimal light transmission and brilliance of the image.

The scope of delivery of the BD 6,5x32 IF includes a very durable, leather ever-ready case as well as a wide and comfortable Neoprene strap.
That's got to be a winner.
Great deal on pricing too.

Doug,

Through the end of November or December?

These are great glass for the money, IMHO.

DJ
Thru the end of December
Been using mine for two seasons now, great glass for the woods.
i like the idea of the 6.5 magnification. it'd come close to matching that of the scope on my main rifle: 6x42.
i think there's something to be said for that ...
I bought a setof these from the demo stuff Doulg was selling last year, they are very good value for $200.
Great Bino's. I have drug mine across Colorado for two weeks and two solid months in Ohio bow season. I'd almost rather go hunting without my bow or gun than this glass. I think it is the perfect sized bino for all practical "hunting" purposes. I prefer to carry them with one of the bino strap systems and forget I'm carrying them.

Doug - I did have the platic cap (the one closest to your eyes)pop off the hinge and get lost. Do you think Minox could send me a replacement?
I am sure Minox would send it to you. If they do not let me know. Their # is 1-866-469-3080
Doug got my Leicas squared away with some covers and stuff; I have no doubt he can take care of practically anything at this point.
Thanks
Doug:

Are the 6.5 x 32 minox binos shock proof. I went to their web site and there is the statement that they are industructable.

Thanks
Eldorado
They are rubber armor coated, gas filled and pretty darn strong. I would say, Yes, they are shock proof
I have them, too. Carry them always.

they seem well made to me, but don't find out if they are indestructable by banging them against your forehead, I find the eyecups a little sharp.
I have Leica 8X42's, Pentax 12.5X52's [DCF SP's] and others, most bought from Doug...the Minox 6.5X32's are my "go to glass" they are great! Deer season just ended here on OK...I used em' at least as much as my Leicas and I hunt in open country in north west OK...Doug is the BEST
I used mine exclusively this hunting season on the Dakota plains. They worked great. Occasionally I wished for more power, but not often, and that would defeat one of their wonderful attributes, which is that you can handhold them if desired without getting a headache.

I find the lens covers noisy in cold weather as they clack against one another and the body of the bino.
I bought a pair of these from Doug the first of this year. These were some that he had lent to the NY school system and sold as demos.

Without question these are the best bang for the buck in binos. I could have spent a lot more money for bino's, but I do not think I could have bought better bino's for the money.

The Individual Focus feature is outstanding, you set it at 75 yrds. and forget it. It truely is that simple. This is a great feature as light gets low, you know that there is no need to refocus. This a BIG feature for me.

I hunt mostly woodland and small food plots. I have used them all this year here in the Southern Woods and to say I am pleased is an understatement.

If you are wanting to take a step up in binos, but are unsure about spending the extra $$s for glass...then these are the binos for you.

Doug's customer service is A+, making the whole package a "sweet deal."

It's been a long time since I have been as satisifed with a perchase as I am with these binos. I can easily say it is the best $200 bucks I have ever spent on optics.

I am not an employee of Camerland, Minox or any of it's subsitiaries.

I love the 6.5X32 IF Minox binoculars. They are my little go-to binos. Just set them for about 75 yards and they are ready to go when you need them.

Steve
Steve,

Having never spent over $50 on binos, I was hesitant to spend the extra bucks on something I knew little about.

Reading your review of these Minox binos last year gave me the confidence that they were a "safe" bet.

Thanks for taking the time to educate those of us lacking the ability (funds) to experiment.

GB,

You're absolutely welcome, my friend. I'm honored that you trusted me enough to invest the money in the Minox 6.5s.

Now that you have them, I'll bet that you love the little Minox' as much as I do.

Steve
How do these compare to the HG series?

I bought a set of Leupold Wind River Mesas about a month ago due to a wife-imposed budget and I am not really satisfied with them. Cabela's will take them back and refund my $. So, If I can't convince my wife that I "need" the HGs then how would something along the lines of these IFs compare?

Thanks,

Dan
How much do they weigh? Please provide a link to the Minox specs.

How would this be for an 11 year old girl? I seem to remember reading somewhere that Leupold had a pair of Binos that was particularly good for kids. I am interested in getting something for my daughter to take on our trip to yellowstone and glacier next summer.
These are perfect for children. They are a good size for their hands, and the IF is the only way to go with kids binos.

OK, you guys are all responsible for me ordering a pair of the Minox's. I have wanted a low power, quality IR pair for years and had given up. Didn't know they were out until this thread. I hope they are what I expect!TKS---I think!
Got my magnums in 3 days! Thanks to all. Spent the day in woods and fields and these are the binocs I'd been wanting. These are truly HUNTING binocs and should be more highly promoted as such in my opinion! Offer a camo rubber coating and call them the Minox Hunter Pro. Would have gladly paid more but happy with the great price. My other binocs (some good ones) will now be relegated to travel and leisure.HO HO HO for DOUG
Doug:
Please accept this belated THANK YOU. Between Vacation and a serious illness in the family; I have been away from home for over two weeks.
Doug is a man true to his word. I called him around 8am one day between Christmas & New Years and ordered a pair of the Minox 6.5 x 32's. He said they'd be shipped that same day; and by god, less than 36 hours later they were at my door. Now that's SERVICE! I've never had anything in 18 years be delivered to me in the country that fast.
Before I had to leave home, I grabbed them along with my 8x43 DCF SP's. While travelling, I took some time to compare them side-by-side and found their resolving power to be almost equal. If someone had handed them to me and asked which one they were, I would have to have guessed.

Again, THANX DOUG for the great service and product.

Baldeagle2
I wonder if Doug would extend that price until the end of THIS month, say; if one was going to also buy a set of more expensive binos from him?
This is a current promotion. Please feel free to call me when you are ready or vist our website
I mainly wanted to see if you were there, and to say hi. I'm almost ready to order the Geovids we talked about. Thanks, and have a good day! I probably will get the Minox"s too, now. Your prices and reputation better anyone else's.
Doug,

My wife's order for the Minox 6.5 came yesterday, they define "cost effective"!
