What's your favorite reticle and why? I'm lusting after one of these things.

I’ve got the 2-20 F2 with the MOAR-CF2, great scope. I’m really thinking about getting the 4-32. I’ve used other Nightforces with MOAR and MOAR-T and believe the CF2 is better. Love the “floating dot “ , I’m not First Focal plane user so don’t know about those.
I was just about to buy one, but bought another NXS. My deciding reason was they are pretty short, and the not best fit on a long action...

F-1 Mil-C

Why
1. Mil/Mil
2. Simple non-christmas tree reticle.
3. Open center 0.05 mil floating dot
4. 0.2 mil graduations on both windage and elevation axis
5. Simple 0.1 mil graduated scale located reasonably close to the center of the reticle.

Some of my detaled comments on the NX8 2.5-20x50 F1 Mil-C are in this thread:

Despite some of my criticism, the scope has really grown on me. This was a couple days ago.

290 yrds. running.

Understand on the short tube dog....good reminder though. Kingston, any thoughts on the 4-32 MilC? That's the one I've had my eye on. Gonna put it on a 6.5CM or 260 Larue.

My 4-32 with MOAR-CF2 is hard to beat for long shots. Works great in timber too

I use Kahles K525i and Steiner Mx7i with the MSR2 in any application where the NX8 4-32 might be used.

There have been a bunch of NX8 4-32(s) on the PX over on the hide in the last few months. I think lots of guys are upgrading. They can be a faddish bunch over there.

I don't know what you plan to use the rifle for, but there's lots of competition in the $2k range. It's been my understanding that the the core deficiencies of the 2.5-20's compact (mainly shallow finicky parallax) do not extend to the NX8 4-32. However, as you are well aware, the quality of the optical system, glass, and coatings is more important in high magnification optics. The NX8 2.5-20 is really crisp and contrasty. I have very limited first hand experience with the NX8 4-32.

PS

290 yard running shot is sic shooting 👍🏼
I purchased one of the NX8 4-32 and it's still setting in my safe. Can't decide where it should reside, on a current rifle, or build one to set under it.....decisions, decisions....

I have both the 2.5-20 and 4-32 in FFP/MOAR. For me this reticle works. It's simple yet has hash marks if needed. I've owned a March scope with a floating dot and I found I much prefer actual cross hairs.

As far as these scopes, I like them. I wasn't sure at first, but the more real world I've used them the more I like them.
