Don't think I am going to be able to swing the $$ for the Zeiss I wanted for this rifle. So looking at a couple of 24 hour campfire favorites - at least to some people. I know these two scopes aren't apples to apples, but want a strong dialing scope that can take some abuse. Mechanics are more important obviously, but like most, I still like to look thru good clear bright optics. If you had to pick one of these - which, are you going for? BTW - I am looking at what's available now, so that eliminates a SWFA 6X or 3-9x42.

My internet reading tells me the Athlon may be the better scope, but I sure like the looks of the reticle in the Arken better.
I own neither, but seriously like the Athlon “donut of death” for a killing rifle. Though it does seem a bit bold for a range/comp toy.
Not sure what $$ means, but what about the LRHS2?
now this is a very serious question is Tikka making the 22 Creed in a factory chamber?

Good gawd man, this is like the movie Groundhog Day.

I've witnessed your movie multiple times here -

You'll order one of the scopes you've listed as candidates, then obsess for months for not getting the one you really wanted, and soon figure out a way to justify it. You'll then feverishly sell the scope you compromised on, bumping it rapidly in the classifieds – finally taking a substantial loss. And while that one is in transport to the new owner, you'll have the scope you wanted in the first place en route from Doug.

Save yourself the anxiety this go-around. smile
What the hell is ate twist?
