Do any of you have any opinions on the new Weaver Buck Commander Scopes? I know they are made in the Phillapines, so I'm guessing they fall in line with the Nikon Buckmaster/Elite 3200 category of scopes?? I'm interested in the 4-16x42SF model. It seems like it would be a good value for $259, but wanted to hear from the experts before I ordered one. Thanks

Have you looked at the new Redfields?
I have but I think their most powerful scope is a 12X. I was looking for something a bit more powerful and had an eye on the Monarch 4-16x42 and I came across this new Weaver. I know some people don't like the side focus, but I actually like it better than AO.
Don't know anything about the Weavers, but I sure like the clean looking housing of the scope.
I agree, i Like the looks of it and its fairly light and compact. I thought would have chimed in on this one.
No experience with the Weaver Commander scope but I do have 5 of the Classic V series and at last purchase they (V series) were still made in Japan.

I do have a Nikon Monarch that was made in the Phillpines and it is a good scope. I guess I am just saying, not sure it matters much, just stay away from the made in China stuff.

Weaver makes a good scope and I think their warranty is good. Don't know about their costumer service. Haven't had to use it.

If you buy a Weaver Commander let us know what you think about it.
