Anyone know if there is a problem with counterfeit Swaro binoculars out there? I know Leupold has had a problem with this. I see a set of them on a gun auction site but the label is on the side of the box and the box appears to open from the (wide) side instead of the narrower end on other models I've seen pictured with their label on the narrow end that pulls out.. The label on these is seperated with 3 bar codes on the right hand side but on the left side the Swarovski name is not centered and it doesn't have the rainbow "Swarobrite" emblem in the middle like I've seen on others. These are 8x32 el WB. Is there any holographic protection or label that would definitely confirm that these are genuine?

thanks, Pat

See if you can find the "line test" which compares a Swarovski, Bushnell and a NightForce. You might "see" things a little differently.
Never met any Swaro owner that wishes they would have bought Bushnell instead.

dogcatcher223,

Ever met a Swaorowner who kept a Bushnell 6500 and sent back a Z5? I'm him. See the line test.
A scope is not a pair of binoculars.

Try a Bushnell Elite 10x43, or 8x43 (not e2) and you'll change your mind.

How are we to believe you can focus a scope?

dogcatcher223,

I didn't include the binocs in the line test. There was a Z5 Swarovski 5-25X52, a 6500 Bushnell 4 1/2-30X50, and a 12-42X56 NightForce.

How is it in the very post you linked to is a photo of my Minox 13X56 that I posted after ironeagle_84 left? Could it be he taught me to post a photo?

But aside from that. The intelegent person recognizes the same person looked through the three scopes on the same day in the same afternoon and recorded the observations.

For practice I posted a photo of the KEEPER on my Freedom Arms .454 which is for sale. One can see the edge of the objective lens of the 2 1/2-8X32 Leupold Vari-X scope.

Pretty hard to counterfeit the Swaro. If you are just drawing your conclusion from photos on a classified, I am
thinking you need to do more research. It seems that there have been some reports of counterfeit Leupold riflescopes, but has anyone heard of a binocular?

I am thinking it is easier to copy a midrange Leupold, than a Swarovski, scope or binocular.
Most people buy "real" optics from authorized dealers, to get the warranty. Probably why few copy a swaro, zeiss, or leica.
