Took the gun out with the VX-R

The firedot, is the same size and thickness as the thin part of the cross hair.

At near dark dusk, the lowest brightness setting works great
Normall dusk it had to kick it up a notch
Normal sunshine I had it all the way up.

At the end of the day I like it a lot, and it seems to make holding on target easier somehow.

Which VX-R do you have?

Leupold says the glass on the VX-R is somewhere between the VXII and VX3. Would you say that is accurate?

I have a VX-R 2-7 Firedot Ballistic, mounted on my CZ 550SF in 9.3x62, and like it alot. They make several different "firedot" recticles including a "Hog" model.

Shot a doe at dusk and had no problem as optics are great, and it's a very small dot.

I've got the 4x12 CDS version

I love mine as well.
