I've been looking on CameraLands site at the Vortex Viper HS 4-16x44 LR and the Minox Z5 3-15x42. I really like the Vortex but I'm wondering if it's $170 better then the Minox. I have no experience with either band and am fairly sure they won't rival my Swaro so I'm looking to those here who have had exposure to either or both for your opinions.
I'd just pony up for another Swaro but retirement money isn't as plentiful as working money was.

My concern would be no PA on the Minox. But I like my 3-9x40 Z3.

I have both a 4-16x50 Viper HS and two Minox Z5 3-15x44. On my 257 Weatherby I just ordered I also took weight into account. I prefer a lighter rifle now. As far as glass goes, no neither will match your Swaros but they are both excellent scopes with good glass. I personally like the Minox and would gladly own another.

It's a tough choice on which to get but cameraland has the Minox 5-15x44 right now for $299. I would take 5 at that price compared to 1 Swaro Z6

DT, I had the same questions but with the Viper HS LR I liked the exposed turret and the ability to have a BDC turret done for your caliber/load I felt it was the best way to go and ordered the HS 4-16x44LR from cameraland today....Hope it's as good as I hear..

Got the minox z5 3-15x50 for my father in law before this last deer season. He loves it. put down a deer somewhere around 350 yards opening morning with it. The glass is great even though i see he mounted it a little crooked.

I was considering both of those scopes and went with the Minox.

The glass is very good in my opinion and I don't regret my decision. I liked my first Minox scope so much I bought a second one for another rifle. The second one is the Z3 3-9 x 42, I think.

I have no experience with Vortex.

I just got the Minox Z3. The glass is great. The field of view is more narrow than the Leupolds I am used to and the clicks on the elevation and windage adjustments seems much less positive and a little mushy to me. I put it on a slug gun and sighted it in fine but time will tell if it is durable.

Just bought my second Minox, a Z5 2-5, first was a 3-15. Love 3-15 on my STW, clear and bright for my legal shoot'in hours. The 2-10 should be here today and will be going on 7mm mag. Looked at a Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10, but went with the Minox instead. CL sale made the Minox cheaper, but at regular price, I probably would have gone with Vortex, glass just as good (IMO) as the Minox. And I do love my Viper binos.
