I've got one in 30-06 and keep flip-flopping with what I want on top. Going LW Talleys for rings, but some of the optics are the 2-7ish leupys, the vx3 2.5-8, and the 4x33 and 6x36. I want something with synergy to the rifles strengths, not a hubble. I'm planning on using this for anything from SE US deer hunting @100 yds or less out to 400ish meters for game ranging from said whitetails to sheep or elk. All input appreciated from fixed powers to non leupy fans. My concerns also include being able to fit smaller lightweight scopes on this action with these rings. Any issues with being able to slip rings or get the eye relief right, etc..

Thanks
Everybody has different issues with eye relief. Do you tend to have problems with placement (can't get it forward enough, or backward enough)?
No issues personally. Its just nice to have a little room to be able to adjust. I would imagine that some of the people who've tried some of these scopes would be able to chime in if there were issues.

On a long action like the 84L I would go with the 6x36 out of the choices you have given as the rest have short tubes. If you are open to suggestions the VX-2 3-9x40 and VX-3 3.5-10x40 would also be great options.
I am definitely open to suggestions. On the 40mm obj, will extra low rings talley LW rings work, or do I need lows?

My 84L 30-06 wears VXIII 3.5x10 x40 in leupy lows. No hubble here.

Definitly going to need lows. Here is my 84L Montana 25-06 with a VX-3 3.5-10x40 in Talley Lows:
