That is pure art. There is nothing like a well made gun and a Zeiss Diavari 3-9X36. Those scopes are perhaps the best you can get in such a compact size. I have a few myself...

Nightforce.....on numerous things.....
I need to get to know you Shrapnel!

I believe everything Travis tells me; he's never steered me wrong before.

I want to get up in your part of the world with a couple of my rifles (that's an easy choice - I only have two) and bust some gongs or rocks at insane ranges.

The last game animal to kill I have left, on my rather short list, is a nice Mule Deer.

[Linked Image]

Schmidt 10X42 PMII on a GAP Nontypical.

The only bad thing about this scope is that once you shoot through it, it's hard to shoot anything else.

And yes, my most expensive scope is on my most expensive rifle....

No rimfires?? ... I envy your restraint ... Kinda smile Could do with only one of several of my rifles ... Which one smile ??

To the op, zeiss 6.5-20x50 on a 77/22.
One centefire rifle

I have other guns though
Target scopes notwithstanding, my Kahles CL 3-9X42 multi-zero on a Cooper 57M Classic 22LR.
My most expensive scope nowdays is an old P.O. Ackley 3-9 X 40 that I paid $35.00 used and its mounted on my .308 deer rifle. If I need a scope on one of my other rifles I take it off the .308 and put it on the rifle that needs it.
swaro 3.5x18 on my p-dog rifle cooper 223. spend more time and rds. with this than any other.
One of my most expensive scopes, Swaro Z3 3-10x42, is on one of my least expensive rifles, Tikka T3 6.5x55. But, it's such an accurate rifle, it earned it.

I'll let you shoot it when you come up here this spring....
My "most expensive" scope is an older Leupold 3.5-10X40 VariXIII, Precision Rifleman, a sort of poor man's tactical. It has worked fine on my Remington 700 VSFS, .308. Sold the rifle, and kept the scope. It sits in a box at present. Might put in a set of spare rings and play with it later this year. If I do, it will go on either my custom .280 Ruger, or, most likely my custom '06 Mauser.
Been a member of a gun club with a 1000 yd. range, as well as an 800 yd. tactical range for a several years now. Never seem to get out there and shoot anything longer than 300 yds.
Need to do that this year.
It's not that I can't afford an expensive scope. I just haven't found any that offered much. Add a set of adjustment knobs and an appropriate reticle, and the better hunting scopes work fine for anything I've ever done.
Had a fancy 6.5-20X40AO for a few years. Realized that anything over 10-12X just wasn't useful in the field.
So, until I find a need, I'm good where I am. E

hdclark......SWEET! My most expensive (sold the high$$$ stuff) is a VX6 and it sits on a Tikka 695 7mag.
My most "expensive" scope is my 1.25-4x24 Bushnell Elite which sells for ~$500 and it resides on my 11yo's Husqvarna 1640 in 8x57.

Here it is. The scope will be moved forward after I cut the stock to suit my boy's LOP.

Swarovski 3-10 American hunter (Z3). Sits on a Stevens 200 in 223 caliber....seriously. Started off there and (so far) has stayed there

2.5-8 Lupy on Ruger UL 257 roberts
A Zeiss Conquest 3-9 with Rapid Z reticle sitting on a semi-custom rem 700 .308 WIN. Not nearly on the level of some of the others here but it is MY most expensive scope.
1.75-6X VX-III on my pre-64 358 Winnie.

20X Supertargetspot on my Winchester 70 National Match....

FWIW, I use all Leupolds on all my rifles, which are either M70s or Sako A series; currently all of them wear Leupolds of some flavor, usually VXIIIs - have never saw a need to buy a different brand.
Remington m7 AWR in 7mm SAUM wears a Leica 2.5-10x42.
Pre-64 M70 in .300 H&H also wears a Leica 2.5-10x42
Montana 99 in .375 H&H also wears a Leica as well, only with the #1 ret.

Yeah, I kinda like that scope a lot...

When the rifle finally gets here I will be putting a S&B 6x42 on my Savage 6.5CM
Leupold 6x36 on a Ruger 1-A.
