lookin at burris 2-7x35, vortex crossfire, swift 2-7x40, and sightron 2-7x35. out of these or any other suggestions which is the best for the money? looking for something for my old 243. somethin with decent eye relief and fairly bold reticle
I'd go with the Burris 2-7x35 Fullfield II.
2-7 Redfield Revolution with AccuRange reticle.
I have two Nikon Monarch 2x8-32 that I like a lot.
Caught them on sale and paid $229 each..
Call Doug at CameralandNY, and ask him when they'll be getting more of
these. FC
check out the new kahles kx 2-7 x36mm
Kahles is expensive?
Kahles KX 2-7x36 Rifle Scope - Ret 4A - K10534
RRP 860.00
729.99
Will that large ocular clear your bolt handle?
Tube Diameter 25.4mm ?
would love to hav the kahles but not lookin to spend that much. ive blown way too much already lol somethin around 200 or less
Agree with the Kahles. Have 3 of them. If you are patient, they come up here and there.
2-7 Redfield Revolution with AccuRange reticle.
I have 5-6 of these.....

And it ain't because they are crappy scopes for the $$$, either.
I like the Vortex - prefer it to my Redfield and Leoupold. All are good but I just prefer the Vortex. YMMV.
Look through them all and see which suits you best.
Don't look through the Kahles unless you're ready to bust you budget again.

which vortex? id love to get a viper but theyre hard to find. soci guess between the crossfire and diamondback

...........For your purpose and the $s you wish to spend, stick with either the Burris Fullfield, the Vortex Viper (@ Cameraland if in stock) or the Redfield Revolution.
Maybe if ya get lucky, you can find a new 2.5-8x32 Nikon Monarch for under $250.
Either of those four will be fine.
Redfield Revolution. Good scope. Good price. Made in the USA.
I don't have one of the newer KX Kahles, but my AH 2-7x36 is no better than a VX-II Leupold.
I have several Leupold VX2 2-7x3m they are great scopes, best one is the VX2 2-7x33 CDS.
Weaver Classic would be my pick. Followed closely by a Redfield...jmo.
Ain't no flies on the Redfield or the Burris FFII Good glass for the money.
I have no time behind the Vortex but a lot of guys sure like the Viper series.
If I could get a Nikon Monarch for $250 I'd snatch that up but that is more $$ Than the Redfield or Burris by a good bit.
i looked at viper this evening. to me the crosshairs are just way too thin. i also looked at burris and will probably go that route. was a ballistic plex but the crosshairs were much thicker than the vortex
I really like both Burris and Redfield Revolution in a 3-9X. The Burris has 1/2 MOA adjustments in their 2-7X and that would make me pause a bit. Maybe I'm overthinking things though. I do like the reticle on the Burris the best. If coarser adjustments are not an issue for you the Burris would be a good one. As would the Redfield.
Do you have a price range in mind? I have a Nikon Pro Hunter and a Leupold VX 1; both 2-7. Would be willing to sell 1 of them. Tom; PM with questions.
Don't look through the Kahles unless you're ready to bust you budget again.

How does that KX compare to my Helia CL?
Have two of these - one on a Ruger UL 30-06 and the other on a Ruger 375 African. Tough as nails.
Just yesterday I shot a buck here in TN and had to drag it over a mountainside of rocks ranging in size from softball to car size. Inevitably I got my feet tangled and fell on my rifle (Ruger UL). Landed on my rifle on a rock. Metal against stone is not one of my favorite sounds. I'll be shooting it in the next couple days to see if rifle is still zeroed but the scope looks fine except a new beauty mark. This isn't the first beauty mark on a Leupold for me. Have yet to have an issue........
The only issue I have with the Leupie 2-7 is they can be a bit sensitive to eye relief. To me, they are not as forgiving as the 3-9x40.

What doe s the guy that sights in your gun prefer??
Just bought another Redfield Revolution 2-7x33 and put it on a Ruger 44 Mag Carbine last week, great scope for the money.
I hope so, got one waiting here on a build..
HBD Bud!
think im gonna go with the Burris. i like the reticle and good eye relief
I got rid of a Burris 2x7 cause the eye relief sucked. Buttttttt.cant completely blame the scope. Ive got coke bottle bottom glasses and have to hunker up on all my scopes...
the 3-9 burris is the one i looked at. inwas told it has better eye relief than the 2-7 model. a local store has one on sale
That has been my experience. I shoot lots of 3x9 Burris.

HBD Bud!
Thank you!
Best for the money? What does that mean? I Have 2 Leupold Rifleman 2-7 scopes. Purchaced for the value and eye relief. One is on a 375HH no concerns with recoil affects after firing 400 rounds. The other is on a Ruger No.1 where the eye relief is required due to the scope mounting position. These are good solid hunting scopes, not toys.
2x7x35 Vortex Diamondback on my truck gun. Its been a dandy!
That has been my experience. I shoot lots of 3x9 Burris.
Ingwe, how does Burris compare to Leupold,as far as clarity?
Weaver Classic would be my pick. Followed closely by a Redfield...jmo.
Yes and yes plus VX-2 IF you don't mind spending a little more..
I have a couple of 3x9 Revolutions and plan to get a 2x7 for my muzzleloader, I am very happy with the 3x9's and would expect the same for the 2x7.
I am also looking at the VX2 2x7 CDS for my 22" barreled EW and two 22" barreled 700's, the 3.5x10 CDS seems too long on the EW so I am moving it to a 24" barreled rifle.
Question for anyone, is the eyebox on the VX2 2x7 better than the 3x9 Ultralight?

If you can find a Burris 2-7 with the 3P#4 I think you'll be pleased. The reticle really stands out in low light. Another used option in your price range is a Burris Signature/Pentax Lightseeker 2-8. I have one and I'm very pleased with it. I picked it up used for cheap and sent it in to Burris and had the #4 put in.
Under $200.00, 1. Redfield 2-7, 2. Nikon.
Own several of both eye relief goes to Redfield, glass goes to Nikon.
Don't know if it's the best but the newest Leupold VXI would seem to have the eye relief and reticle you want at a reasonable price. Optics seem better than the older VXIs.
