A little belatedly, but my new scope finally made it to the Christmas Tree and I found the time to mount it on my Blaser kipplauf. It is Leica's new ER-i 3-12x50 with rail mounting system.

The optics are, simply put, superb, and the ballistic turret comes with a locking ring to prevent any accidental shift.

I can't wait to take it to the field!

Thanks Cranky!
I am about to receive a barrel in 6XC and that will be the home for the new scope.

Yes! I ordered it six months ago after confirming wuth Blaser that it comes with a 1:8" twist...
I already bought Redding dies and new Norma brass and will start my load work with 105gr A-Maxes and URP powder.
I hope it will be worth the long wait!

22oz scope and a little K95? Isn't it crazy top heavy?

I'm sure it's spectacular and way outta my league, so I shouldn't say anything.

My K95 wears a 6x36 leupold, my ideal scope would be a 2-7 Kahles

Gorgeous rifle ... Im just not sure I could ever take something like that hunting - At least not in Ontario where Im dragging it through the bush when it rains and snows. I would probably bring it to the hunt camp - wrap it in a silicone sock - use one of my rifles with the synthetic stock - go shoot the animal and then bring out this rifle to lay it on top of the animal for the picture LOL

Yes, CooperFan, the scope is heavy but I will be using it mostly for Roe Deer hunting, which does not involve any strenous activity, or climbing, etc.
For mountain hunting I normally use a 5-15x42 Victory which is not too bad.
Best hunting hours for Roe are first and last light, and the optical quality of this Leica will be an add-on in those conditions.
Regarding what you say about being top heavy, I was a bit scared it would be, but it is not. At least in my hands it does not feel top heavy at all, the extra weight making the set up more stable and comfortable to shoot.

I wish Blaser would listen to the voice of the customer and make a Pro stock for the K95, both the R93 or R8 have them available. I have a Christensen arms carbon stock for my R93 and I like that.

CF,
No one understands why they haven't come out with a synthetic stock for the K95.

PM
No bad weather or rough hunt stops me from taking my Kipplaufs but a synthetic stock would be better under certain conditions.

Which reticle do you have? Would it be possible to see a through the scope picture with the illumination both off and then on?
