Does anyone here own or have previously owned this scope?

I'm thinking of getting one for my newly acquired Ruger American Compact .223 and putting it in Leupold Rifleman detachable low rings.

I'm thinking this would make a nice inexpensive beginning deer rig for my kids, plus a nice truck/fun gun for dad, plus that scope just looks like it belongs on this rifle.

Pros?

Cons?

My son and I each have one (but with the Accu-Range reticle)and really like them. I would encourage you to take a look at the A-R reticle. I don't use it so much for the range-finding aspect, but I find that it really helps me center the target - sort of like an aperture sight within the scope, in a manner of speaking.

I think it's a fine scope; clear and bright. Also it's not so big that it overwhelms a rifle. I have the exact scope on a Marlin 444T and it's never had any issue holding zero, even with the 265 gr Hornady loads. I've not been sorry for buying it.

Yep. I have the same little scope on my most-used rifle. It's very user friendly and I like the reticle.

I've got one w/accurange on a 3030.
Its extremely bright...nice eye relief...dang nice.
When I picked mine up the prices were pretty low AND I bought when they had a rebate. I think I paid about $110 net...it was a steal at that price!

Thanks for the info, although I prefer a simpler reticle, I have an older Bushnell Banner 3-9x40 with a Circle-X reticle, which is real similar to the top part of the Accu-Range and I've found that I shoot more precisely with a plain old duplex-style reticle.

That is a steal! I'd have jumped on that too, even though I prefer a duplex-type reticle, lucky duck!

I've got that exact scope waiting to sit on that exact rifle. I had mounted it on one of my ar's but I hate chasing brass so the rarc .223 or .243 is my next purchase.

Got that scope sitting my latest .223AI build. I am VERY impressed with it as a hunting scope and am taking it hunting in a couple weeks�..

Had one on a Savage 99, then a CZ-452...darn nice little scope, sold it when I switched a few rifles over to straight power scopes. Wish I'd kept it. Put a 3-9x40 just like it on my Dad's rifle for him a few years ago and he's been very pleased with it too.

They are awesome....I have the 3x9 on my Ruger M77 .270

i have several of them, great scopes. Leupold keeps raising price on them,
you can almost buy the VX-1 for price of a Revolution.

I prefer the Revolution to the VX-1.

I have several also and have used them on guns ranging from .22s to a 12 gauge slug gun. I started buying them when they first came out and were $129. I love them! Very bright with reliable click adjustments. I do prefer the looks of the Leupold for fancier rifles. But, the Redfield would look perfect on the American.
