Quick question ???
Will the MRC 1999 long action accept a rail intended for a Win model 70 LA ???
I was hoping a Farrell rail might fit
If not is there a manufacturer that makes a rail for this action
Cheers
Sort of a optic question, wasn't sure where else to put it.
Farrell is the schittiest schit there is and assuredly a 2-Sandwich "solution".
Hint...................
It should accept a Winchester M70 rail
Thanks Crow Hunter
No Big Stick I disagree, B Square are the $hittest $hit there is. 20 shots of my 7RM and the screw holes were all elongated and distorted and will no longer stay tightened down (was mounted solid and tight, with loc tight)
I have no experience with the Farrell rail but noted that they made one for the Win 70 LA, if the Farrell are of dubious quality what Win70 LA rail is a quality choice and worth purchasing ???
Farrell will hold at least an exra .5 Sandwich, over a 'Square.
Why a rail? What's the application?................
Med-Long range plinking perhaps to 1000 yards and Med range hunting, the scope is short in the tube, needs a rail to mount in my desired position, unless i get offset bases(Scope is NF compact 2.5-10x42) rifle is in the 7.5-8 pound class with 4# barrel
i wanted a low profile rail and the lowest weaver/picatiny ring set i can get
Big Stick must be Boxer, i can pick his lovely manners.
Big Stick, what is your opinion of the Near Manufacturing Rail and also their Alpha Mount ??? how many sandwiches will you fit under that around 0.2 i reckon, but i like thick cut sour dough so perhaps only 0.1
in all seriousness though the Near mounts look to be good gear, have you used his equipment before ???
In a nutshell,a rail is a rail. Where one gains is in it's length, mount height and recoil shoulder(s). Farrell sucks ass, unless you are hungry. I'm of course talking 1913 spec.
I've got Near rails and S/S is never going to offend me. Do not have any Alpha's,nor would I,as I'm a fan of greatest ring spacing,as a means of bolstering scope integrity.
You could do worse.................
