Hey guys,

I'm looking at getting one of those iPhone adaptors for my Leupold Golden Ring 12-40 spotting scope. I see there are a ton of them out there now and not sure how to pick one. I'm big on "you get what you pay for" but they range in price from $30-$350 and after some home repairs recently was hoping to get a good one for $75 or less if possible.

Have any of you guys found one you like for this price range or do I need to step it up a bit and bite the bullet for a pricier one? Also looking for one that will work specifically with my spotting scope as some are brand/model specific and others say they are universal.

Thanks,

PhoneSkope... I've used one since they first came out and it seems to work well... Also look at their Bluetooth shutter remote...

Thanks elkhuntinguide, I was looking at that one. I'll give it a shot since you have used it.
Give them a call tomorrow and they will fix you up...

Ask them also about the C4 Universal and the C4 Mini Universal... I have bought both and can mount my phone on any optic with and eyepiece from 1.20" up to 2.335" so I'm covered for just about anything I use for Binos, scopes and spotters...

Not sure if the universals will work on your Leupy but I'm sure they can get you squared away...

X2 on the phone skope
I haven't tried any of the expensive IPhone adapters yet but I have been using a very inexpensive adapter with very good results. The adapter is the Carson Hookupz IPhone adapter. It was designed primarily for binoculars but works well with my Opticron MM3 50 mm spotting scope if I don't use any of the adapter rings. Not sure if it will fit your scope but for $12 it is a small investment. Here is a pic and video I took last weekend of a Great Egret at a local lake with the IPhone 5s, the Carson adapter and the Opticron.

Thanks guys, ordered the phone skope with the specific adaptor for my scope. I thought about using the universal one but don't think I will really use it on any other optics.

That picture of the egret is great, I hope I can get photos that clear with mine.
