I've got a Promaster XC525C tripod and Manfrotto 700RC2 head coming in for a Swaro ATS 65mm spotting scope.

Looking for a window mount which would allow me to swap quickly between the scope on the window and scope on the tripod.

Manfrotto has a 243 mount but it requires a separate head. Didn't think I wanted to swap heads back and forth from tripod to window mount. An extra 700RC2 adds a quite a bit of $ for this setup.

There are other decent looking mounts like a Nikon and a Vanguard but they don't seem to have a quick attach. They have a head built in though.

Do I understand correctly that if I want a quick attach setup that will work I need to either get the Manfrotto window mount and an extra 700RC2 head, OR, get something one of the non Manfrotto ones and add a Manfrotto quick release adapter?

Any one have a setup that works well they would like to recommend.

Most mounts that take a head are too tall to use as a window mount anyway...... I guess a guy could take a stack of phone books to boost yer azz....
I run a 700rc2 head on my window mount so that that the plates will match up.

I use this for my clamp instead of the manfrotto one. Its a tad cheaper but works great

The other option is to use this on any cheap window mount.

Ha Ha ! Hard to find those these days. I'm a short fella (5' 6") so I might need those.

Now that you mention it, a window mount and short fellas is one reason why one might want to pick straight vs an angled scope.
