I have a 257 weatherby with a bushnell 4200 SE 3x9 on it currently. I picked up a new burris ff2 E1 ballistic plex 4.5x14x42 for an incredible price with the intent of getting a custom turret for a 100 grain TTSX load. However I haven't taken the cellophane off yet as the deals on vx3's at natchezz are tempting but I would still need to do a kenton turret or get a cds one. Am I over thinking this and should I use that burris and not look back?

Here's a link k to the burris

If the Burris will fit your ring set and give you good eye relief, I'd stay with it. I believe their optics are good and the BP reticle is easy and effective.

My only issue with the FF II line is there seemed to be very little room on the tube for eye relief adjustment.
Haven't you heard, the deer nowadays have adapted so much that they are impervious to guns with Burris Scopes, unless you get that leupie, you will not be able to rest a night. I have even heard tales of the lenses falling out of the scope after the first shot. They probably won't take the scope back but I could pay the shipping and you could just send that defective obsolete piece of junk to me and I'll use it for a paper weight.
I bought that same Burris scope some time back and used it on the cow elk hunt this year, it worked fine at 400yds.
I hadn't even thought about getting a Kenton turret for it, the E1 holdover marks worked great and keep it simple for a hunting scope.
For dialing I have other options.
