I'm leaning towards getting the 3-18 model, my only Swaro is a Z3 with #4, of the Z5's which reticle is the best/recommended for low light visibility?
If none fit the bill then I may try the VX6hd 2-12x42, this will go on a Barrett FC 6.5... Thanks

If you go with the BRH it is a bit thicker (H standing for heavy)

Please give us a call to discuss what would be best and how we can personally assist you with your decision

I think the Plex may be the heaviest but it just depends on how you intend to use the scope. I went with the 4w and a BT and have no problem seeing the reticle in low light, even in the woods. Basically,if I could tell it was a shooter deer with the glass,I could aim with the reticle. Both work fine in legal light for me.

Doug at Cameraland did give me the best deal on mine.

I'm wanting the BT also, am hunting near Gilbertown AL. in Okatuppa Valley area so there is a mix of dark pine thicket, creek bottom and long power lines... So a little bit of everything

BT-4W would be my choice.

I’ve found the plex works far beyond legal shooting light

I like the standard #4 Swarovski uses in the Z3 and I guess if I didn’t like whichever I pick I could always have it changed.... Do y’all think the Z5 is a better scope than say the Leupold VX6 hd 2-12x42 optically or would the illuminated reticle be a bigger plus ?

I have all three scopes mentioned. My Z5 had such a fine reticle, I sent it back for #4 retrofit which I like. I've read that the later Z5's have a more prominant duplex.

The Z3 duplex is OK.

The best of all, IMO, is the VX-6 duplex. I have a couple of 2-12x40's and those are better than either Swaro, better than the VX-3.

I do like the VX-6 Firedot. It doesn't have the lifetime Leupold warranty like the rest of the scope.

I think VX-6 glass is as good as the Z3 or Z5, but I've not done technical comparative testing. Those VX-6s are really nice scopes, so easy and fast to get behind and find the target. They're 30mm, but sleek, and not real heavy.

Was Told Swarovski Will Not Put The 4A In The Z-5. Called Them Few Weeks Ago. I Have Two Of The Z-5 Plex's. And Also Have a VX-6 As Well As a VX5 HD. I'm a Swarovski Man, But For Low Light The Leopold Plex Recital Is a Little Better..

Thanks for the input gentlemen, I really thought I wanted more magnification but don’t want the weight/size of the VX6 hd 3-18x44 and that’s why I was leaning towards the Z5 since it’s going on the Barrett FC, if I go VX6hd 2-12x42 it should fit in Talley lows I believe, the Z5 3-18x44 would probably need the mediums, correct?

I Had Lows On My Fieldcraft With A Z-3 . IMO The Z-3 Fits It Perfect, If You Can Get By With The 3-10 Power. Pretty Sure The 3-18x44 Will Work With Lows As Well.

Where would a Zeiss Conquest HD5 3-15x42 z Plex stack up against the Z5 and VX6HD?
