Bought a new Mesa in 300 prc.

Some local guys pushing the First focal plane scopes, however I know nothing about the difference between first and second focal planes.

I know the rifle will be used for hunting to 600 and targets too 1300 Being new to the long range game (longer than 600). What scopes do you fine folks recommend?

The Meopta riflescopes are a great choice.

The difference between 1st and 2nd FP is with a 1st FP the reticle enlarges as you increase the zoom power in the scope. In a 2nd FP the reticle remains the same size.
2nd FP is standard for hunting

When my build is done (hopefully in a couple weeks), I mounting a Swarovski X5i 5-25x56 with the 4WX-I reticle on it. Not concerned about weight as the OP might be with a Mesa.
