1pm I was checking out the acorn crop at the edge of a wide open pin oak flat that butts up to a Hell-a-thicket. Last thing I was expecting was a group of hogs to bust out in the middle of the day. They were vacuuming up the acorns like crazy. I was hoping for a noggin shot but this feller stopped with his head behind a tree. đź’Ą
Shot was 100-115 yards. Drilled the driver’s side shoulder and stopped under the hide at the first rib on the passenger side. He ran the “40” in a flash and skidded nose first another 5 yards.
165 gr Core-Lokt 30-06 (factory ammo)
Big Green is still growing the deadly mushrooms!
112 gr after the dust settled = 68%

He wasn’t rut stinky. The meat has zero smell so he’ll get some 225° oven time.
BBQ tacos coming soon.. đź’Ş

Cool pics, and I’m surprised that 165 stopped in the hide. Looks like it did a great job though.
