You can check if you've drawn a Non Resident Deer/Elk tag in Montana this year. I managed to pull a non res combo tag.

Yup, I drew a deer combo license, now to apply for the area I really want to hunt (one of the slim to none WMAs for NR).

Just Walmart and the Census! Any out of staters that draw should be required to shoot at least one Wolf while they're here. In fact, they should geta free tag.

Seriously though, deer in the NW are pretty scarce after the last two winters.

Thats why the F&G didn't release any B tags, or have an either sex opener this year. It's going to be a while before numbers are worth hunting around here... Let alone how many immature bucks are going to get smoked on the opener for meat. I'm thinking it'll be 5 years before I start seeing any bucks worth shooting

And since I don't have horses any more, every year that I put in my moose and goat applications, I worry what I'll do if I draw the danged thing. It's been almost 30 years since I packed a goat out on my back. The peaks are higher and steeper now than they were back then.

The game situation is only going to get worse here in NW Montana unless all the wolves are wiped out.Things don't change soon the rest of the state will start seeing the impact that we are.We had a great season last year,but really saw very little game.
