Took the cam off the creek bottom when I turned the weaner calves out, and stuck it out on a knob in the middle of a prairie pasture. Have pics on it of cattle, horses, my dog, coyotes, whitetails, muleys, fox, and hawks. Have tons of annylopes and not one pic of them on the cam. But, the big surprise was a close-up of a bull elk. I'm an hour east of Denver, 'tween Deer Trail and Agate. I've cut elk tracks on the crick bottom, but they're transients sticking to cover......

Wouldn't be Purdy's riverbottom would it?
There is a group of elk over on the Kendall Ranch and when I was out there in the mid 90's I saw a big 7x7 and thought "nobody will believe this"! Anyway, joke was on me, they had been seeing them for years
drum, there are about 120-170 head resident herd over by Chaparral
Yep, my dog likes to be caught on the game cam also....
I gotta get out there and buy you lunch one day soon
yessir. You also gotta see this place. Still got my number?
yessir. You also gotta see this place. Still got my number?
I will look in my PM's and I'll PM you mine as well
What kinda hawk is that in my pics? roughleg?
That elk is an in-your-face damned ham! Elk are runners - ergo- evolved as plains animals, tho we now think of them as mountain critters.
If the habitat and protections are there.... they will be.
True for most any critter.
Nice pics. Which moultrie model are you using?
beats me. A little black one with a solar panel
Very cool. Game cams are something I want to do more of this year.
Birder in my house thinks Ferruginous hawk. Cool pics. Thanks for posting them.
I figgered it prolly was a ferruginous rough leg. thanks
Great pics! Good looking heeler.
Keep them coming.
I've gotta catch on to a solar powered cam. I'm using too many batterys in mine.
Nice pics. What kind of camera are you running?
Thank you for the pictures.
Fine assortment, wherever they are.
Great pictures ! Which trail cam ?
Ken
I really don't know for sure. It is smaller and kinda square compared to the bigger, rounder one. A little solar panel plugs into the bottom, and you can't open the door without unplugging the wire. Looking on moultrie, I think it may be m-80?......It takes color pics during the day and B & W at night. infared....
