Any of you skilled craftsman make a box to carry and transport your barrel stove? My cardboard box is almost dead and it sucks for moving that heavy thing. I'm thinking of making one with handles(and wheels?) that will double as a firewood box in camp. Any suggestions or pictures are appreciated.

Nope, removable handle on the side tie down rings of my Cylinder Stove. Grab it like a suitcase (a heavy suitcase!) and go. Ain't nothing going to hurt that stove that requires a box.

I built an insulated box for one. And like GW, added a handle. But mine is on the side of the stove body. The box was built to stand the stove on edge, and the handle aids in getting it in/out/carrying it. I added enough length to carry a gallon of lantern gas/lantern, fan, mantles and tools. The pipe, heater, grate and stuff is in the stove...

the box works great for mouseproof food storage, asacooler and as a table.

Nice box! I like the fan idea to spread the heat around the tent.
I hadn't thought about insulating it to use a cooler.

I use a heavy duty trashcan from home depot. Has handles and is easy to move.
