Hi guys, I'm travelling to The Coeur d'Alene area and want to do a little deer hunting. What I'm looking for is a place to park/camp with a motor home fairly close to some decent areas for hunting. I will have a Tacoma 4x4 to access the hunting area. I haven't been able to narrow it down as to where to concentrate my efforts.
Not looking for your honey holes (well maybe;) but just want a decent dropping off point to start. I'm limited to a fairly decent road and campsite for the motor home but can travel from there with the 4x4.
Any help would be appreciated.
You can PM me if you like.
Thanks Butch

Wish you luck on your adventure.
Don't have any real shocking info but there are plenty of deer around. That tag won't be hard to punch.
There are a few campgrounds just off the 90 on the North side with good gravel to them. I'd look at the Forrest Service web page and see if you can make reservations.
Thanks guys for the help. The NF campsites are for the most part closed for the season, so it will have to be a private RV park. I've gotten a couple PM's that have helped a bunch, but if you have something of interest I'd like to hear it! Thanks Butch
Most of the national forest campsites will not be closed. Camping is limited to 14 days. You oughtta be able to find a decent spot up the Couer d alend river. Plenty of public access up there. Buy a wolf tag also please.
Shoot a bear too. Please. You'll find it plenty of spaces to park up the river road where you hunt. Let me know when your in the Wallace area. I can show u around if you like.
I must have got some bad info from someone at the NF service. She said they closed the 1st of September??
What's the chance of even seeing a wolf? Or a bear?
I'll give you a call when I get there oldpinecricker, thanks for the offer!
Plenty of bear and they are hard up this year because of failed berry crop. Seen some while out taking my dad out for an drive. Wolf. Good luck. They are elusive.

Few days ago someone killed an small male grizzly wearing an collar. There are bears around.
I read that the griz had been collared in MT but they'd lost track of him. They wander long distances sometimes.
BTW, if you aren't aware of it, non-resident hunters can use their deer tag to take a bear or wolf. Shoot wolves. You're allowed 5. Please.
