Anyone using the 0.277 Barnes 129 gr LRX?

I'm considering them for an all purpose bullet antelope to elk. Would like to hear of experiences on elk size critters.

Any pet loads?

Not the same/same I'm sure, but Greentimber did a couple of write-ups on the 127 6.5mm version, taking both a deer and cow elk at extended ranges. I'd think that the differences between the two bullets would not be that great.
I've not seen to much anecdotal info out there about these bullets yet, I think most folks that use X bullets are probably happy with their current versions (TSX, TTSX) and have not given these newer additions a fair test yet. My own experience with them is in the 6.5 and 7mm calibers ( I don't personally own a 270). I haven't done a lot of testing (trying to get a new rifle up and running in time for the season), but while accurate enough, groups haven't been as tight as with their TTSX counterparts. I did shoot a whitetail buck last weekend (260, 127gr), and despite my rather poor shooting the bullet (couple of them actually) put him on the ground. I took him to the processor so I've not much info as to the destructiveness this bullet has. I did note that while field dressing that one lobe of the liver was well shredded and he had a nice sized hole through the bottom of his heart. If you look in the deer hunting forum, I wrote about this there. I'll be using the 260 again here this next weekend in Wyoming - hoping to tag a cow elk myself.

Old post but still useful info.

I've taken 4 animals, 3 cows and 1, 3x4 mulie with the 127 6.5mm LRX out of my 6.5x47. All one shot kills, 250 to 500 yds. Very accurate. 2800 fps using Varget. I'd practice hitting a bread box sized rock out to 1000 with zero issues. Complete pass through every time.
