Wife was drawn for dm 413 here in Alaska it's pretty much a winter hunt season starts 1 November. Anyhow weather cooperated today it was a balmy 19 degrees momma don't do single digit hunting lol. Pretty anti climatic we spotted the moose, we closed the distance get her ( wife) to within 350 yds. I get the shooting sticks setup tell her put crosshairs right in its shoulder. She shoots I hear the whack of the bullet cow runs 100yds falls over dead. Rifle used: model 70 classic in a 280 Remington using 150gr ballistic tip
, 58.5 gr h4831

That's what is great about hunting with women and kids, they don't get hung up on stupid stuff, they just enjoy the hunt.

Congrats to all and good luck on the daughters.

A few Years agoy dad use that same combo(.280 150 BT) on an ancient cow elk and bang flopped it....

He was like 73 at the time so he fits in at the Women and Childrens table laugh

Good job. Congrats to the wife. I can hope Carolyn could do the same if we ever get moved up.

Just put a moose stew in the crockpot down here.

At least I won't hamstring Carolyn with a ballistic tip. LOL. She can use the 338-06 with 210 ttsx. No BTs in this family. LOL.

I think I still need to build a 280AI just because.
