I'll be spending a couple of days in Cape Town before my hunt this month, are there any good outdoor stores or gun shops that I should check out while I'm there?

Gun shops over here are nowhere near what you guys have over there. You might want to have a look at some Courtney footwear from Zimbabwe at Safari & Outdoors in Stellenbosh, less than 30min drive from CT. Check out their website www.safariandoutdoor.co.za.
Why not take in some wingshooting, rock pigeon, guiney fowl, francolin, egyptian goose, spurwing goose, etc.

Woodhits, A Rosenthalls is a gun shop in Long Street in Cape Town CBD that you might find interesting. The main shop is in Windhoek, Namibia and they have a bigger selection of hunting rifles than the norm. You could also try City Guns in Cape Town CBD. Nothing like you have over there in the States, though..

Look for Suburban Guns. They sent me a Somchem loading booklet years ago.
