Threats to Shopping Areas and Malls

Security Message for U.S. Citizens
June 4, 2016

The U.S. Diplomatic Mission to South Africa informs U.S. citizens that the U.S. Government has received information that terrorist groups are planning to carry out near-term attacks against places where U.S. citizens congregate in South Africa, such as upscale shopping areas and malls in Johannesburg and Cape Town. This information comes against the backdrop of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’s public call for its adherents to carry out terrorist attacks globally during the upcoming month of Ramadan.

I would be afraid to go anywhere over there.

Much safer there than in Chitcago, Detroit, DC, Cleveland, New Orleans, ...
So how many of us are planning to hunt in a major city's mall?
I would not sweat it. Those "threats" have been on the State Dept's site for years, albeit under a different name. You just can't be SAFER than in the Bush.

Amen brother. I'm headed that way August 11th, overnight in J'Burg at Africa Sky. I don't go to malls here, much less over there.
What you gonna hunt this time JGR? grin
Poobah, I can't get enough. 7 hunting days including 10 animals to cull (probably include several oryx and wildebeest, and a few others), but I intend on spending a couple of days dedicated to finding either a big kudu bull or eland bull. Never killed an eland. I'm using the outfitters rifles, Ruger 77's.

Those big kudu bulls are addicting aren't they?
JG just said Kudu... that's justification to enough for me to plan on taking another. That and the Bullseye butt waterbuck
Gonna take A LOT more than that to keep me out. smile

Kudu are ALWAYS an interesting hunt!Hunted them with a pard once for 12 days in the best area I know...never quite got it done till the Rover had a flat....noticed a big kudu bull watching as they switched tires grin

OTOH the first trip my wife took with me, day one, first walk into the bush, hour one, and she gets a nice kudu bull down....

" You have NO idea how lucky you are..."

" Yes I do! came her cryptic answer".......

Nooooooooooooooo....you dont. grin

I got mine the first day...after that I was in Euphoria...and spoiled myself for the next one I'm sure. Now, the Gemsbok eluded me enough to make it on the list for the next trip.
JG I am out of here on the 12th on my way to Zim.
