A friend is helping his sister to sell off his deceased brother in law's guns. Among them is this Ruger, with a circassian stock, gloss blue, and leaf sights. It's new in the box. It might have never had the bolt put in it. What's a normal price for one of these rifles?
If its truely NIB & has a nicely figured Circassian walnut stock, it would be easily north of $2,000!
Kind of what I was thinking but I can't recall ever seeing one for sale. It's a drool inducer for sure. Makes me wish I had the need for it as well as the funds.
NIB is at least $2000. Ruger made some special upgraded m77s. They had a full 1/4 rib, upgraded sights, nice Circassian walnut. Made in 270,30-06,375H&H,416Rigby and I believe 458Lott. In Zimbabwe I had a chance to shoot a pros in 416 Rugby. Very nice gun, better made than the Winchester M70 pre64 Super Express or Safari Express(which I love) problem for me is I'm a lefty and I just don't like a Ruger bolt for dangerous game. But, that is my opinion. Wish I had the money. I would buy it as a investment or as a gift to take to Africa. Pros go nuts over something like that. Your rifle will surely sell.
Yes, it's got the 1/4 rib with leaf sights. Where besides here would a fellow advertise such a rifle? Who wants pics? Photobucket has been lame, but PM me with a phone number and I should be able to come up with some pics in the next few days.
There called Ruger M77 Mark II Express Rifles....should bring around $2000...if it has pretty piece of wood with grain running properly for 416 Rigby's recoil....
Try Guns International. Or the bidding sites such as Guns America or Gun Trader.I have not ever used them so I don't know what it all entails.

Also listed in 404 Jeffery, though don't know if any ever made it off the line in that chambering. They were listed at retail for $1300 to maybe $1500 back in the 90s. Buddy guided bears with one that fired the Rigby round. I paid around $1500-1600 for mine a few years ago, a 375 in like new condition but lacking box and papers. Nice rifles that weren't much appreciated by people when they were made, nor have they appreciated in value as much as many ordinary rifles have.
I've seen them in 300 Win, and I think 338 as well.
Those would be the "express" rifles in standard chamberings, a beautiful rifle in there own right. The rifle in question is in the .375, .416 & .458 Lott RSM "magnum" African rifle family.
might try listing on the classified on Africa Hunting and see if you get any takers.
There is never a shortage on GB for them, and they seem to sit for a loooong time at $2000+ on GB too.

Nice rifle, mine was my first big bore.
They do need an aftermarket recoil pad. Factory one sucks.

Looking at completed GB auctions, $1750 and $1850 were the only ones to recently sell, while a nice one sat unsold at $1700.

As a seller, you might get lucky with the right buyer at the right time.

A patient buyer can find deals is they look.
Thanks for the auction history. That gives a good idea of where things stand.
I bought my Ruger RSM in 375 H & H for $1800, just three years ago. The price included the rifle and a Leupold 1.5x5 VX3. It had a beautiful stock with a lot of figure that literally sealed the deal.
