Flight time is nearly here. I was lucky enough to get an invite from an old friend to visit him for my retirement gift. I'm going to get to hunt for 9 days with my oldest son while he hunts sable, eland, bushbuck and what ever else we run into and them another dozen days just playing things by ear with old friends.
I hope to finally get a caracal and civet. No stress, relaxing 3 weeks in my favorite place
where abouts in SAfrica are you off to?
Outstanding. We need pics and a good report!
Good luck, and you will have an awesome time!
Good luck on caracal. I have always wanted one. Was usually out of quota or wasn't plentiful. Used an American audio predator electronic call before. Called in EVERYTHING except caracal. Cool watching leopard sniff around the speaker. Civet are nice too. I took several Genet with a .22 Hornet. Its quite often the little things that make safari so memorable. Shoot a few boxes of #6 12ga. at sunset around a waterhole for sand grouse is one to remember.
I'll be spending the majority of my time in the Limpopo region near Ellisras but intend to do some traveling. I do intend to take a varmint call and will try to take any varmint that is legal.
Thanks for the good wishes.
9 Days with my favorite hunting partner in my favorite place to hunt is going to be a lot of fun for sure.
Good luck and please post pics when you get back.
over here the Jackal and Caracal are allways leagal. Good Luck calling in the cat, they are very shy and reclusive
Shot this guy about a year ago. Happy to have the shotgun, he was 30 yards away and running
Best wishes, full report anticipated.
That is an impala to bring home.
Still waiting on the taxidermist.
Are you having it done in SA or here in the USA?
With all the BS here on the "fire" about SA, you sure you want to go??
Have fun.
Elk. I will have it done here. Just waiting on dipping and shipping.
Cgpaul. 6th trip and had a great time, as usual.
