What do they cost to have done in your neck of the woods and how long does it take? I friend of mine had been doing some for friends for a couple of years. He does not use beetles and usually has the mounts returned within 10 days. He only does the mounts, no plaque. Word has gotten out and now friends of friends and their friends want mounts done. We are curious as to what people are paying to have European mounts done. Any ideas?

$150 was the charge foe spring 2019 Pronghorn charged at the hunt. Discounted $75 for the cape. Now I get to drive 4.5 hours to Junction, Texas to pick it up.

Took him quite awhile because of the load he had .
It was boiled and picked clean,then bleached.

$150 for beetles, then a hydrogen peroxide bath, and a clear coat.

i usually do my own by burying the head til early summer and its usually pretty clean by then. i have also done it with boiling. either way i then do the peroxide powder. this past year i had a taxi do a beetle job for me for $120. he did a nice job but it took almost 7 months. i will do my own from now on again. i get the kit from van dykes for about 30 bucks or so and it is good for 3 or 4 skulls.

I do my own. Stew it in water with some borax. Takes a little work, but they turn out nice and clean.

My wife does ours. Steam it out for the afternoon, bleach/peroxide and then Elmer's glu mix. Throw on a piece of wood and save $$$$

I used to do traditional mounts but the European mounts are much cheaper and look so nice we switched over a few years ago. I like them so much now, I wish I could take my old mounts in and have them re-done into Euro mounts. We spend $125 and let the taxidermist do ours because he does a great job and the wait just gives us something to look forward to after deer season!

Here's my son with his 1st one and last one. We aged the last one at the deer check-in and he was 5 1/2 years old!

Moose and caribou are a bit of a pain but I use a pressure washer and it is a couple hours or so each to get them clean. I do not usually bleach them because I like them a bit more subtle... deer are a lot easier and quicker.

I do my own! Boil ,pick, and pressure washer. They turn outgreat. I bleach them in 1/4 bleach to 5 gallons water for a couple hours, dry and clear coat. I have helped the grandkids hydro dip a couple. Not my likes, but the kids like them! Around here 100 $ is about average in price.
