The Dark Web uses a maze of routes through computers and servers across the globe to help protect and keep your identity hidden away from prying eyes.

You need to download *Tor* which is free onto your computer to begin. Then you should find one of the encryption apps available that garble your communication making it difficult for someone other than your intended contact to decipher what you sent or are receiving.

If you’re not going to use the Dark Web for purchasing anything, preferring to use it as a way of communicating with others. You won’t need to exchange currency into Bitcoin for online purchases.

I just started down the rabbit hole with the Dark Web in preparation for worse things to come our way.

It’s actually fairly simple to get set up...Tor is super easy to download which allows you to access the subterranean web.

dot.com isn’t used. Everything on the DW is dot.onion which *Tor* uses to access the millions of sites.

A VPN is also used on the Dark Web.

Each time I open up *Tor* a VPN tag appears for me to click on.

Before I click it, it says my computer is located somewhere in Oregon. After I click access VPN my computer designation goes to somewhere hundreds to thousands of miles away from where I’m at.

My son told me about the DW and TOR when bitcoin was 2.50 and encouraged me to buy some. He told me not to look around on the DW without knowing about it. He said you could inadvertently go to sites that would land you in the clink.

TOR is not a VPN. They are very different. TOR does not use a VPN. You can use TOR with out going on the dark web. In other words just using TOR does not place you in the dark web.

TOR offers services called ONION servers. The set of all ONION servers is what is called the true dark(or deep) web. They are not available through normal search engines. You have to go through TOR.
