Won't mention the nice Buck we passed up,or that the weather was tough enough, that we didn't get much for pictures.

Am hoping my videocamera survived the deluge...............
Dude......
Thems got to be some bad aze steelhead if you need a BB gun for protection. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Spawn or spinners?
You gotta love nice native fish.

Nice pics....fishin' weather for sure.

Nice fish....a chromer hen and buck and a buck with just a bit of color....gotta like that.

Bobber drift fishin'....I like the tap, tap too. Perhaps with those natives you get the freight train effect more often than with the hatcheries we get (probably 90% of our fish). Bummer.

How far from the mouth or are you standin' in it?
cold and wet? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

glad everyone survived ...
I was sooooooooooo [bleep] used by a HOG. Got spooled and was counting wraps,as I leaned as hard as I could on the rod and then had to thumb the spool and bust my jig off at the mono leader, while pointing rod tip to the fish.

REALLY had my ass handed to me...it was ugly. Absolute head-shaking Hog!

'Humper lost a Pig too. MUCH water and things is sporty, once they is on.

We're bumping tools a smidge, for the next foray.................
There ain't any tapping, they slam maribou with aplomb.

It's a hold on and ride 'em out show..................
We can't fish bait now and the water is wrong for spinners,IMHO. It's a high-speed Drift Show.

'Bout 9-ish miles from the mouth, mebbe a smidge more...............
Glad you guys didn't blow away... It was HONKIN' in town today.

How come you guys ain't drivin' fly rods? :-)
Your a wet wildman.
Great pic's! Beats watching it snow here!
Swear to God, I hate you both!

Have no fear though, this DSMF is working on some pay backs..........with a swatter to boot. (grin) Found a little creek very close by and trout are starting to show.
Am prepared to send video,if you get TOO lippy!(grin)

Tell Momma and the crew...Happy Xmas from us..................
Don't waste my time postin pictures of dink fish.

If it ain't even as long as your rifle, throw it back.Practicaly a gold fish!

WB.
Was you sportin the same rig as the day we went? I think that will be THE spot to bust 40..... damn good day.
stick,
you wouldn't know what to do if you got a big striper on your hook and it started peeling the line off.
We may need to expand on the Snoopy Derby, to include Steelies this year......
So you got your chit tooken from you-HUH...I told you don't go down there foolin w/them big uns w/o no new string!
'powell,

Show me a Striper better than 52# and we'll talk(my Grandma,pictured).

Grew up abusing them,in freshwater...................
Was driving the same rig.

40 is as good,as in the bag.....................(grin)
i didn't say grandma wouldn't know what to do, i said you wouldn't know what to do.
Gotta get another scanner, for my 35mm stuff.

Am thinkin',I could prolly land a Striper,if only because I caught my first one when I was 6.........................
Have yet to be spooled from a Steely, though I look forward to the day I do......
i guess your grandma was holding the rod.
Was a portion the specimen,a portion the torrent and a portion due to hooking it DownTown.

Had never seen that Trifecta before, but look forward to another glimpse........................
Wouldn't be her fish,if she weren't.

The mount depicts her name and the date, for that very reason.................
Stick,
Tell me about the rifle pictured.......caliber, barrel, contour, etc..

BTW, don't forget the 338 Ultra pic! grin

No runnin' room there? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Huntr ...

"Sporty Spice" is the name of that rifle ... and if I recall correctly, it might just be one of his absolute favorite rigs ...

I'll leave it to him to give you the particulars, and to tell you just how much he dotes on it ...
Seasons on clusters?

If the water is anywhere close to accomodating eggs, I'm there. Sounds like your choice as well. That's when the take, mostly in these parts.....so subtle. No bait/artificial seasons here.

Kings mooched with a cut plug and eggs drifted at steelies....it's the take that makes it all worthwhile. Head shakes good too, swin ups and the ensuing craziness, even better. Not knowin' how it'll all go....... long before the net/bank....the best.

No rinsin' the gear anyway after that trip, at least if it were here. No place here tidal water goes that far, but AK...I don't know.

Again, nice trip.
Water into the timber,we were on the dike edge of a Beaver Pond, trying to reach a riffle.

Needed Jeezus slippers,to slow the woe and I'd left them at home................
I growed up Bouncing Roe and it's my bread and butter, but simply not an option. It's a Seasonal Thang, that changes like the tides.

Water isn't brine, just brackish muskeg runoff, which is very much typical.

Had Tidal zones in my Native Orygun, that went 9-ish miles easily. Catching Spawning Stripers in a Steelhead Riffle,is a crazy good time.

That's March-ish and the water's typically sedate,so you could hustle the bank,if mono reserves ran low. Loved pitching jointed/floating Rapala's,in the Moonlight, during that March Madness.

Pitch upstream, above a riffle, let it swing crossbank and work it at a quarter to you and you could HEAR the strike, before you felt it.

Stripers...is FUN................
They're all good, but I especially like the picture of your Grandma and that Striper. She's pleased! She has every right to be, too!

That's pretty funny stuff...
Same picture as you paint on the Olympic Penninsula. Ultra clear deems ultra light...fish working their way through the riffles with tails exposed in July, not-so December, deep wall with fish lined up but spooky. Small baits, ultra hand honed #1 Gami's, 8lb. Max ultragreen, no lead....dink, dink...BAM!! 2 aboard by 7 early.

Fella says "well you sure know how to catch 'em, but you don't know the rules. You've got your two fish...why you still fishin?" "You can still take 6 salmon.....right!!" Bait finds bottom in the belly.....dink...dink....BAM!! Oh sh**!! Now what to do? 24 lb. King hen, bright and crazy.....LOL. 4 days fishin', first salmon that took...revived her in front of azzh***....grinned....alot.
nice fish ,,, Looks like putZ out fished you, Great pics... Am recovering here! merry X mas to all p. crew ...The bros up north ,,,we will cheers down one for u2.. 8 inces fresh snowfell last night so tis a white one... looking forward to more bean sinkers
I always get outFished/outHunted...I just like to take pics.

Weather is tough here, the winds are crazy and the rain worse, but we'll chase things in the AM,regardless.

Tomorrow will be a large bean day,if'n I had to speculate...................
Always loved that Grandma picture. That Striper was a hawg.

What in heck happened to you! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Looks, like baldness ,skips a generation.....

Big Stick, when I was at your place and looking at your "wall of fame" photos, that one of your grandmother is still one of my all time favorites. You just can't fake the excitement in that photo.
