Manoman, I hope it goes well for you Tika. I can do without some senses, but eyesight scares me.
I'll Pray, Lord Jesus, May our friend's doctors do the job well.

Yep, and some learned to do a good job at it. I hope you got a great Doc. Good fortune and God bless.

Much more difficult. The cornea is real thick, like .5 mm, that is sliced and diced in lasik. Technical instruments are dialed in for the most part and buttons pushed.

The retina thickness is about 180 um centrally over the macular area where the membrane forms. It's about as thick as the foreskin of a flea and needs to be peeled away if the aging, shrinking Vitreous Humor jelly in the back part of the eye doesnt, given time, shrink and pull it away.
Good luck on both the trip and the procedure.

Nobody sneezes or hiccups or coughs in this procedure or .......

The optic nerve, actually a protrusion of the brain forward into the back of the eye is seen here 10 o'c to the macula peel in the center of the field.
The central retinal arteries and veins are seen exiting the optic nerve behind the micro forceps.

Most eye surgeons never develop the skill to attempt to become a retinal surgeon.

Best of luck!
Hope everything goes well.

Does this mean you won't crash the drone into a cliff anymore?
Dang. I hope you consider driving down tonight and getting a hotel. Soldier summit is not fun after a snowstorm! Too many idiots driving hwy 6 these days.
