Since advertising represents a vast majority of Twitter's revenue, I'd think if enough Twitter users were to put pressure on advertisers to quit using Twitter it could eventually turn out to be a not too wise investment for Musk and investors. If enough advertisers were to leave it might even could lead to the demise of Twitter.

Twitter isn’t a viable business model and Musk is well aware of this fact. Going into this Musk knows it’s a money pit. If anyone here has listened to Musk on the JRE podcast or his comments at TED recently you would come away with the impression that Musk is more of a libertarian and truly believes Twitter is the equivalent of the town square. He believes Twitter should adhere to the standards of the 1st amendment.

I know that means I'll occasionally get an insult from stick or who ever bit I just take that as evidence free speech is alive and well and I'm often thankful in the end for some of the honest feedback I get.

I'm actually considering getting a Twitter account once Musk gets the deals done. I might not agree with him on everything but if he's moving things towards freedom I want to support it.
