50 years and 2 days ago...
I was discharged from the Army. My last combat action occurred 2 days prior when I got off the Freedom Bird and was confronted by 3 queer war protesters just before entering the terminal at SFO. They wound up on their ass.
😊
Thank you for your service to a free world Sir!

Nice job on the Hippie schit, wished I could have seen it.
Any video of the ass whuppin?Thank you for your service and your contributions sir!
Nah, I think that was before video was invented.
I had a duffel bag on my shoulder that weighed about 80#. They wanted me to stop and one palmed me on the chest. That's when the bag made a wide arc catching the three of them in the upper chest/face. I forget what they called themselves, but they were dressed in what looked like Hindu garb/robes. I hardly broke stride.

Hairy christina's or something like that?
Thank you sir.
thank you for your service and for putting those guys on their butts
I was spat upon and they threw "mud" at me when I staggered off the Freedom Bird. I was too exhausted to fight, but I did tell the loudest one "I have killed hundreds of my enemies. One more won't matter to me." He got wide-eyed and backed away.
Half a century, Dan. And we still relive it daily. It doesn't take much to flood my mind with images, and even smells. Hell, I'm having them as I type this.
(I saw the cake, Frogman. Happy Birthday!)

Thank you sir.
Yeah, it was the Hairys, thanks.
Thank you DD for being an American hero in a day and age when heroes (unless they are in drag) are frowned upon.

Glad y’all made it back. After a Middy training cruise where we spent a little time off the coast in an LST in ‘72, we were told to change to civilian clothes before leaving the base for SFO. Even so, the Hare Krishnas and hippies yelled at us guys with short hair. Bat rastards 🤬
Thank you for your service, sir (and ALL vets).

I got out three years before you... Encountered a couple snowflakes in college after that - and they didn't like what I had to say to 'em... As if I cared..
Thank you Digital Dan for your service, and thanks for kicking the queers asses.
Glad you made it back Dan.
Others as well.
Well done, Troop.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Dan, I'll ask again, what was your rank?
I distained saluting offices, until I realized, officers salute everyone.
I made a game of putting a big ole, Salute, on them making a left turn with a cigarette in their hand.
Hairy christina's or something like that?
Thank you sir.
Yeah, it was the Hairys, thanks.
DD thank you for being YOU and everything that entails.

Dan, and all vets, remember, it is "Niner", not, nine."?
Wabi, I "retired" as a CW2. Saluting was not high on my priority list, but I did it when required.
One of my finest moments "over there" was the day I nearly gave the Troop CO a heart attack. I did that by refusing an order from a 1 star general and saying "Phuoc You, Sir." Never heard a word about it afterwards.
Aviators and those using artillery speak 'niner', civilians don't get it. Spec Ops talks that way too.
I salute them all.
Dan, were you trained to say, "Niner", not, 'nine'?
Yes, but I don’t speak aviator when conversing with groundhogs.
Thank You for Your service and may our LORD bless You and Yours.
A very belated "Welcome home and thanks".

Didn't get spit on but there sure wasn't any home coming type stuff. Went in in 69 and got out in early 72.
