Does anyone know anything about Goettsch Farms LLC in Calamus Iowa? I am looking at buying a tractor from them and they seem difficult to talk with. I spoke with Lonny Goettsch and it appears to have very strong German accented English. The last time I tried to get a hold of him to request a invoice. I got a reply back I could not call that area? One time I got a message the number was not working. I am not sending money. Any interaction will be face to face but for me that is a 8 hours drive one way. I want to make sure I am not being swindled.

Anyone have any experience shipping a #2200 tractor and the attachments by freight. I have the truck to pull anything but don't have the trailer. I am not sure I can find a flat bed to rent that will handle the tractor length with bucket and attachements.

It appears that the company ships as well as sells equipment. https://goettschfarms.com/shipping-services/

I don't trust any company you cannot have excellent communication with though.

I'd also personally see and try out any equipment. I think you got that covered though. wink

Don't do it. If that's the best someone who stands to make money off of you can do, ask yourself how helpful they'll be after they have your money.

That was the number I was trying with no luck. I called him back 563-265-6077 and it worked once right after he called me. When I called him back to ask about trucking it said I could not call the number, strange.

His heavy accent had me a bit on the cautious side. I know in no way will money be sent or wired. I will test it and take my son who has the same exact tractor. I could haul the tractor back on a double axle car hauler but the implements might be a problem getting them in my truck bed and attached to the tractor.

I still may not do the deal.

As a follow up to the topic. The more I dug the more I realized it could be a scam. It turned out to be a overseas scam for the Kubota B3030 tractor. Not able to call and then once I did talk with someone it sounded scripted. The last kicker was the email from a ex-wife selling her husbands tractor. She had gave all brokering duties to a foreign logistic company. After I said to many red flags I am out I get a invoice from the logistics company to wire the money. They needed my drivers license number, Social security and a face picture. How dumb do they think we are?

Avoid these names, they all are part of it. It's possible some names are just hacked. How do I notify the government?

I see their trucks on the road, but that does not mean someone can't run a scam using the name.
