None of them are as good as his books.

Best adaptations-

Christine

The Mist (ending to that was not like the book at all, but Stephen King approved and loved it. It was awful)

The Shining - a [bleep] classic

Looking at the list, it appears I've seen about 4 of them.

The Shawshank Redemption worked for me.

1. The Shining

2. Stand By Me

3. Shawshank

No mention of "Salem's Lot". Kind of surprising.
Stand by Me
Misery
Green Mile
It-Updated
Cujo and Pet Cemetery are my favorites. The original Pet Cemetery, not the remake.
Oh yeah, I forgot The Mist and The Shining. Also favorites.
I liked the green mile and that one with Damien Lewis.

Crap, forgot the Green Mile. Another favorite. Shawshank was great, too, but didn't know it was a Stephen King novel.

There are sure a lot of good Stephen King novel based movies.
The shining is the worst.

It was Dreamcatcher.

The worst as in the best, right?

The Shining
Christine
Misery
Salems Lot
Doctor Sleep

Not a movie but the TV series of The Stand was good.
Maybe a list of Stephen King books you didn’t know were Stephen King.

The Running man- a much better read than the movie.

Shawshank is a masterpiece of a movie, a decent book.

The Stand was not my thing but substantial.

Salem’s Lot although a TV movie was pretty good for the time.

Others escape me currently. Happy Whiskey day.

Agree with 2-4, not necessarily in that order, film or book. His best stories. The film version of The Shining was a steaming pile of schit. IIRC, it inspired King to not option any more film rights unless he wrote the screenplay.

I read the uncut edition, all 1186 pages of it, in two days. I threw the mutherfucker across the room when I finished it.

Hahahaha!
I mean, really? The Hand of God?

Gee, he didn't pull that out of his ass . . .

Same with It. A giant spider?

GMAFB.

Somewhere around Delores Clayborne, he finally learned how to end a story.

It wasn't. It was one of the novellas from Different Seasons, originally titled, The Body.
Creepshow. Man that was good.
I can see arguing over John Grisham, but not Stefan King. IT is a masterpiece
Shawshank redemption and the green mile

Christine for me

A newer called Geralds Game is watchable, especially if you like Carla Gugino tied to a bed.

Wrong. “Stand By Me” was based on the Novella “The Body”.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Body_(King_novella)

“ The Body is a novella by American writer Stephen King. The Body was published in King's 1982 collection Different Seasons and later adapted into the 1986 film Stand by Me.[1]”

Yup.

Apparently I was reading one post and responding to another.

IIRC it was also from Different Seasons .
