I’ve been hit a couple of times. The MFer drove away both times. I got hit a while back, need to get it fixed. I don’t think I’ve ever hit anyone. Someone hit Wifeys car a few years ago. Damn, she was mad.

Wifeys car got hit by 4 grocery carts at one time
Wife's Expedition, a few months ago, at the community center. His insurance paid for it. Looked just like that.

Years ago I had my 90 Chev 3500 in for some work. Got it back with a fresh booger in it. No prob here, since it was already beat to hell. I bet they think I didn't notice, tho. smile
Anyone that call their wife "wifey" deserves to get hit. LOL
Yep. Had my tailgate down with an ATV in the bed. Somebody backed into my tailgate and bent it, then drove off. I wound up backing into a tree with the same setup later, so it really didn't matter much in the long run.
You might want to be careful backing out those garage doors too. I understand mirrors can get expensive.

Commenting for a friend...
Amazing how people will hit someone’s car then drive away. No honor these days.

I picked up my brand new Silverado at the dealer. Drove to lunch to meet my buddies. We was all standing on the porch of the restaurant
Looking at the truck and some old man in a SUV turns into the parking space next to me and crashes right into the rear qtr of my new truck.
Im normally a gentleman but I could have killed that old bastrd. He wanted to take care of it outside the insurance as he said if he had one more claim or citation he would be done driving. I told him to download the App or Uber because he was done as far as I was concerned.
IME parking lots are free for all zones. Everything from NASCAR wannabe to just plain stupid bad drivers. Why do they just drive off, because they are leaving and you aren’t.
I'm going through...insurance stuff now with my boat accident from last summer, the guy told me you would NOT believe the amount of people running around as uninsured Motorists
Twice, same new truck, in the parking lot at work. Luckily both coworkers were honest about it and had the damage repaired.
Momma had the 65 hi-boy 3/4 ton 4x4 GMC at work one evening. It was equipped with a diamond plate bumper built around a three inch channel from the factory. I had added some six inch channel across the back with four inch rail tied to the frame for my home made receiver hitch. Some guy backed into the back of that monster.

He wiped out a quarter panel, tail lights on one side and trunk lid on an AMC Javelin. Did not leave a scratch on the 20 year old truck. He was a bit upset when he came into the store where Momma was working. But could not really figure out how to shift the blame.

Then there was the day we were at the used appliance store buying a washer for Momma's niece. We got done and made arrangements for her niece to come pick it up.
Momma backed her 05 Durango right into a Tommy lift on the back of a 1 ton flatbed.

Not a scratch on the truck, but I had to send her to the salvage yard for a replacement tail light for her Durango while I was in a Dr appt. Yes, we called the proprietor out to check his truck before we left. The Durango has 250K on the odometer, so the paint and dings around the tail light are not worth fixing. The tail light stays in place and works properly.
Wife's car got hit one time while we were in a local restaurant.

Young kid driving with his mother in their car. They came into the restaurant to find us.

last year in the dark a bird hit a mirror on my Dodge pickup and totally trashed it. After pricing a factory mirror, I just bought a Ling Foo version from Amazon for $80.

We’re talkin about parking lots not English lessons
Was sitting in the car in the parking lot while wife was shopping. Some Asian lady had n a BMW started to back out and just kept on coming. I blasted the horn but not before she hit the front of our Camry. Turned camera on video and climbed out to confront her. She freely admitted to not looking before she backed up.

Her insurance tried to split blame until I told him I was in a parked vehicle and had video of his insured admitting to guilt.

What looked like a minor scuff on the bumper was actually a $2300 repair to the front clip after we looked underneath
Yes
Had a coworker back into a parking spot with his manual transmission vw jetta, evidently left it in neutral, no parking brake. It rolled out of the parking space, took a right turn since the wheels were turned, proceeded to roll down hill and hit the front of my 3 month old At4. I actually have a video of it from our security cameras. Probably hit me at 5mph, Geico paid out 12k
I've never had it happen to me or my wifey smile. Shortly before dad gave up driving he backed into a car in the Walmart parking lot. The car came from nowhere when dad backed out of the parking space. Dad said the car was beat to hell. His insurance paid, but a couple of months later the driver of the other car was arrested and charged with insurance fraud.

He would cruise parking lots in an old beater car waiting for someone to back out then swoop in right behind them. He just took the insurance money and never fixed the car.

Now wifey has backed into several trees, mailboxes, utility poles and at least one other car. She had followed our daughter-in-law to the mechanic we use to give her a ride home after dropping off their car. As she started backing out of the parking space a guy with a Dodge Hellcat pulled in behind her. She put the hitch into his left quarter panel. I guess if you're going to do it you might as well do it right.

Our insurance company paid, but the guy just couldn't live with a Hellcat that had been hit so he sold it.
Yep. One of the aircraft maintenance guys backed into the rear of my Acadia.
No, but I got run over in an intersection once.
Had an old lady that hit a pizza delivery driver's car and they both stopped in our office parking lot. Cop took down what happened and left. She immediately backed her huge Cadillac into my car that was parked outside my office as I watched. She totaled my car and nearly totaled her Cadillac.

The cop had to come back and did a report. She was super old and they did a referral to the courts to have her license reviewed. She shouldn't have been driving. I had gone out to check on her after she pulled forward and she put her car back in reverse to hit my car again. She was totally out of it. I had to reach through the window to quickly put the car in park before it moved much. No telling if she would have come through the building on the next pass.
Got a friend of mine—local Justice of the Peace—he hears lots of minor misdemeanour type charges. Speeding tickets, seatbelt infractions, no insurance driving while suspended type of deal. He once had a non-insured motorist run into his brand new SUV in a Walmart parking lot. He’s a pretty easy going guy—cry a little and plead poverty in his courtroom and he will reduce most tickets down to nothing. Except ‘driving without insurance’ insurance—at least public liability is required by law.
You get caught driving without insurance hereabouts and it is going to cost you several thousand dollars.
My Tundra seemed to be a parking lot target.

Funny but not funny.

My wife came out of Walmart last summer to find she'd been sideswiped while inside. The car was still parked next to her, white with her blue paint all over it. She called me, I told her to call the cops, the cops came. While the cop was there, the driver came out, saw what was going on and tried to drive away. The cops chased her down in a low speed chase, and corralled her in a vacant lot, the whole bit. Luckily it was her grandmas car and the grandma had insurance. She was cited for a number of things.
I was not moving when I was hit in a parking lot in 1970.
It turns out parking lots are legal dance floors.

when you call your wife Henry do we chastise you?
I saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to reverse and leaving the scene
yes just last week, back of drivers side wheel well , didn't even notice for 3 days.
Had a sweet 71 baby blue Mustang with a tuned 302 with dual exhaust. Pussy magnet. 8 track stereo and Jensen speakers, it was the first nice car I owned so I parked it way in the back forty at a Fleetwood Mac concert to protect it.

Sure as schit got back to my car and somebody had sideswiped it down the entire driver side. No note. I'm still pissed 45 years later.

Only once a few years ago and the guilty left a business card under my wiper to contact him for repairs.
Hanco: Sadly (in more than one way!) I was at the Butte, Montana (many refer to this horrible town as the "anus of America"!) gunshow, several years ago, and when I returned to my car in the gunshow parking lot it had been "hit and runned" by MOST likely another gunshow attendee.
No note.

Curious what you got for diminished value, I had to get an appraiser to write a report concerning my 3 month old truck. Cost me 299, but it got Geico to come up from 800 to 4500 in diminished value. It was definitely worth the 299

Yep. Brand new truck. I hadn't had it more than three hours. Parked away from other cars in the grocery store parking lot. Came out and there was a dent over the rear drivers side wheel well. Nobody saw anything and no note...
Yes. Once while I in my vehicle (lady just backed her car right into mine). A number of times when I wasn't around to see it.
You sure have skinny legs.

You're not alone in that, I was on the way home from the dealership with a new truck, window stickers and all.

Stopped at the grocery and parked way the hell out there away from all the other cars.

Dent with the paint knocked off over the driver's side rear wheel well, intentional as all hell.

There's a big lesson to be learned here, maybe a couple.

Don't park in store parking lots........................or............

require folks to park facing out so they can see where the hell they're going when they pull out to leave.
I've been hit twice. Was in the car both times. On the other hand, I took out a tailight of a Ford pick up when I clipped it with the gooseneck trailer. I was watching the cars in front and not paying enough attention to the trailer. I felt awful, that being the only time I ever did such a thing.
I watch a young man wipe the side out of his camper trailer when he tried to turn too close to a chip truck. I felt sorry for the couple. GD
I got assended at a Wendy's drivethru once.

Old Geezer in a Cadillac mistook his gas pedal for his break and nailed me just as I was reaching out the window to grab my food.

He stayed on it, I held my break pedal hard and my truck was sliding along jumping violently as I tried to hold back the Caddy.

He finally realized his error and stopped.

I jumped out and looked and there was a small dent in my chrome step bumper.
I told the guy if he gave me a hundred bucks we could call it even and go on our ways.

He freaked the fu_ck out on me, told me he'd do nothing of the kind so the police were called.

We pulled to the side and he just glared around me while I ate my lunch and waited for the cops.

When the cop arrived the old fart jumped outta his Caddy and started yelling at the cop telling him I was trying to extort money from him.

The cop calmed him down momentarily and told him this was private property and he didn't have to write a ticket if we could settle this between ourselves.

The cop went on to advise him of possible escalating insurance rates if he had to issue a ticket, he told him the $100.00 payment would be his best bet.

The old coot blew a gasket, just freaked out all over the place pacing around getting all red faced.

Told the cop to just write the damn ticket.

I collected $500.00 from his insurance company and put a sticker over the dent.....

Florduh retirees, now I are one.
Nope but I did get laid in a parking lot while I was in High School.
Had a blue hair hit the front forks of my bike and flip me over
Had a guy call me once saying you hit my car in the parking lot at the Mall you owe me 500 bucks.

The Mall he was refering to was over a 12 hour drive from where i moved to some 5 years earlier.
The guy was cussing and trying to bullying me into sending him money.

I politly told him what he could do.

Best part was i had access to to a whole bunch of burner phones every night i started calling him from these phones diffrent number evey night. You know 2 am 3 am etc. Saying you hit my car you owe me 500 bucks.

After a week of cslling him one night he was calm not yelling for the first time and said to me hey man come on we all got a hustle man can you just let this go i am just trying to make some money where i can.

Hey how do you get all these diffrent phone numbers anyway.

I promply replied you owe me 500 bucks as that was the number he was asking me for.

I called him for weeks before i got bored with it.

It's gonna happen with me, it's just a matter of time, it's gonna be gas pumps.

I have a Motorhome that extends way to far beyond the rear axle.
If you cut hard from a stopped position there's 7 to 8 feet of ass-end swing.

When refueling at a busy filling station you gotta plan your escape route.
It takes a while to fill the tank and all the while cars and trucks will be shuffling about potentially blocking the planned route.

You can't always use all the available entrance/exits if there's much grade to them, that long ass-end will bottom out in a heartbeat.

So that even further limits options to escape.

Idunno how many times theres been now that I've spotted my route to thread the needle between other vehicles with this beast, took off from being sucked up next to the pumps and moved 10 feet before I thought to look back to see if I'm sweeping the pumps as the ass-end swings.

I've come close, it's inevitable, there's gonna be that day.
I keep the insurance company on speed dial.
Yes and the person just drove off. I can't say when or where it happened.
This is a pic from our local Wally World. If my wife saw the person do this I would have told them "You're on your own"!

Happened to my brother-in-law. He clipped a gas pump with the rear corner of his big toy hauler. He has been driving big trucks and hauling heavy equipment for years. Unless one sticks to the travel centers and truck stations, it can be pretty tight for RV's or trailers. GD
I once had an old guy clip my left rear fender while he was trying to park his giant truck next to my car. On the outside I was calm, "Hey, stuff happens, nobody is hurt, that's what insurance is for."

On the inside I was doing my happy dance because that fender had a dent in it to begin with that he obliterated and now his insurance was going to fix the whole thing. Some clouds have silver linings.
I was walking on the sidewalk across a driveway and an idiot rolled his Bronco into me. I wasn’t hurt, just angry and he goes “What’s the matter? You aren’t hurt.”!

First car I ever bought brand new drove over to parking lot and parked way where nobody was. Came out and this beat up piece of [bleep] is parked right tight to me and there’s a big dent in my door. Lost my mind and ran into the store to have the owner of said piece of [bleep] come out. While in the store waiting this 400 lber waddles out and get in the car. I run out and confront her , when I tell her to open the door and she does the dent is six inches higher, I’m like wtf can’t be her. After she drove off it dawned on me when she got out the car raised up six inches! Probably best she left before the I realized it, then for some reason the cops showed up …

What do you call your wife, Steve?
I was backing up the 18 wheeler in a snow storm at a Loves Truck Stop at midnight east of Knoxville. Knocked off the left side rear view mirror of another truck. Did not hit the truck itself.
Those big mirrors are expensive.
