Gentlemen,
Please pray for my wife. She has a mass in her neck that came up rapidly and is causing her a lot of coughing. The doctors so far have done a ultrasound and confirmed it is on her thyroid gland. We have an appointment at 8:30 in the morning to consult with a surgeon for a biopsy at this point. The doctors are concerned with how rapidly the mass appeared and where it is on her thyroid gland. We’re both nervous and could use your prayers.

LBP….Your wife is in my prayers as are you and her doctors. I’m sure that not knowing what the issue is can cause frustration and fear but I hope that you’ll have more information soon. Feeling “in the dark” and not knowing how to proceed is only temporary, once you have a treatment plan you’ll be able to move forward (hopefully) with the confidence that accompanies victory!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Les.The wife and I were both diagnosed with cancer this year. I’m 8 weeks post treatment and the wife is in the middle of hers. We feel your pain and frustration.

The ultrasound showed the mass is 4.4 cm and some of the lymph nodes in her neck are swollen. The surgeon thinks it could well be cancer.
They are scheduling her for a biopsy asap and will definitely be doing surgery to remove the mass.
Waiting for a phone call to schedule the biopsy.
I will happily pray for you guys to have a negative biopsy. Please keep us posted Les.

When it rains it pours. Still waiting for the biopsy on August 3rd on the mass in her neck, but now she has another issue. We thought frequent irregular periods meant she was nearing or starting menopause. Turns out she needs a total hysterectomy it’s scheduled for August 16. Gentleman please keep her in your prayers.

Update Gentlemen. Yesterday they did the biopsy procedure to take tissue from the mass in my wife’s neck. The procedure went well and they got good samples. The doctor said we should know results in about a week.
Also as far as the hysterectomy they have it on hold for now waiting to see if some non surgical methods (ie birth control injection) will stop the bleeding.

Odd thing when we left after the biopsy the doctor asked when the results came in if my wife wanted to know by phone or in person. I guess he asked in case it is cancer how she wanted to know.
Anyone been asked that before?
We got a call about my wife, Dam I wish it would have been in person. It makes your head spin even worse till the next appt. Still praying for yall.
Finally it’s surgery day. We have to be at the hospital at 6:30, surgery at 8:00. Praying for a good outcome and biopsy results on the mass.

My wife is out of surgery the doctor said everything went great. Now to get a definitive biopsy of the mass. He said it was large 4.2 cm.

Good deal.
The same thing happened to me in 2014. It was cancer. The doctor said she could save a portion of the thyroid. I told her if she was going to operate we would remove the entire thing. She agreed & removed 21 Lymph Glands as well. I was put a tiny 150mcg pill for the duration of my life. Could not be more happy. It was the easiest & smoothest surgical remedy I have been thru to date. There was never a hint of pain through the entire ordeal.
Her neck is sore today but she’s feeling pretty good. Now if anyone has followed the thread from the start, they have scheduled her second surgery for the hysterectomy. She’ll have it on 9/28. Two surgeries in 10 days granted they are on opposite ends. 😁
