This is what our enemies are up to.

Unlikely to happen, but in today's world you never know where this will lead.

California has become the first state to call for a Constitutional Convention for gun safety. The Right to Safety Amendment would ensure the
people’s elected representatives can determine what gun safety laws are appropriate for their communities and enshrine fundamental,
broadly supported gun safety measures into law, including:

• Raising the minimum age to buy a gun from 18 to 21
• Mandating universal background checks, instituting a waiting period for all gun purchases, and
• Banning the sale of assault weapons and other weapons of war to civilians.

Triggering the convention will require 33 other state legislatures to pass a similar resolution.

The most amazing thing is that a person would believe that their elected officials could determine what is appropriate.
“Other weapons of war”.

How encompassing that little tidbit can be.
This was announced a couple of months ago, but I could not find anything on the forum about it.
They can all FOAD.

Just as long as you don't touch that 9mm......she's a 'double-lunger'
You need two thirds of the state's legislatures to call for a CC, that's 34.

Any new amendments require three quarters of the state's approval, that's 38.

Good luck getting that many state's to simply agree to give up their rights as they are currently protected.

There are reasons our Constitution continues to hold fast, and why fu-cking liberals hate it to death, it is extremely difficult to change.
In the Spirit of 76- - - - the rest of the country should call for a second American Revolution. Once the current corrupt regime is swept out with the trash, then we can have another Constitutional Convention. The Ship of State has too many holes in to to stay afloat- - - -scuttle the thing, lay a new keel, and start over.

And there are 27 states with constitutional/permitless carry. You think 10 of those will vote yes?
You can't legislate away a right. You can't add an amendment to negate another.

There is a process to change the Constitution. Its in the Constitution

Again, . Marxists not playing by the rules.

FJB got 81.million votes...
Well you can s h i t in one hand and wish in the other; see which one fills up faster.
That was announced back in September, it was just a grandstand play for Newsom to add a page to his job resume for replacing Joe. Nobody takes it seriously, he is always doing meaningless things to puff up his liberal credentials. I think there was a 5 bleeders Meskin shootout in Pasadena the week before, stats say Pasadena is about 65% Latino, surprise. Change the constitution.
Sheep still can't figure it out. 1 day they will...

Look up the 18th and 21st amendments for a counterexample to your statement.

You should read the 21st amendment.
Yes. You both should. The 18th was repealed by Constitutional process ( see section 1) Amd.
21 documents that process.

Vastly different than what Golden Boy is pushing.
My comment specifically addressed your statement I quoted and highlighted.
No it did not.

They are not nullifying the Second. They want to give regulatory control of the Second over to (some cases) unelected bureaucrats.

You said: "You can't add an amendment to negate another."

That is false. The 21st Amendment was added to negate the 18th.
"Communism lite". Their attempt to boil the frog as they so successfully have done in the past.
No, the 21st. DOCUMENTS that the 18th was REPEALED by Constitutional process.

Its gotta be recorded somewhere, the Constitution ain't on an etch a sketch.

Pretty sure this is one of the ways the Constitution can be amended. A constitutional convention can be a very dangerous thing. It can be convened for any reason but once in session nothing is off limits. The Constitution could be totally unrecognizable following a constitutional convention. As liberals gain control of more and more metropolitan areas they gain control of that state. Happening as we speak in Arizona. A once solidly conservative state is now considered a swing state meaning it can go either way.

This is a very shrewd move and needs to be taken seriously. I think most people “feel” there should be some “reasonable” restrictions on firearm ownership and possession. The Constitution says “nope”. So people take the attitude “what can it hurt.” Well it has the potential to completely change our nation and make us all serfs and peasants. Personally, I am good with the Constitution as it now stands. Absolutely no need to change it.

Exactly right.

There you go. You found it.

NOW, do you comprehend how different that is from what Gorgeous Gavin is attempting?

To ratify an amendment, each state has the same vote. Idaho's <2 million have the same vote as CA's 40 million. ID, WY, and MT with about 3.5 million have the same vote as CA, TX, and FL, the 3 biggest states with over 80 million. There are lots of small red states. They aren't going to get 38 states to vote for that piece of crap.
You can bet that the big blue states would love to change that part of the constitution.
God damn those old white slave owning sons a bitches were pretty god damn astute. 😁
2 of the biggest problems the country has are politicians & lawyers.

A pox on them all.

MM
They just know they won't be on the well armed side when the civil war starts.

That's the point I was making regarding the Constitution.

Now, look at it from a different angle. The left "hates" the Constitution, but not because of what it says, but because of what it does. It protects everyone, and by that I mean it protects US from THEM. That's the part that drives them insane. That's the part they would change if they could.

I don't think they would get serious about changing the Constitution beyond the political theater talking at their base about it gives them. They are having far more success doing exactly what they're doing as we speak, using litigation and legislation to restrict and shut down those who are of a different political bent than they are. They're getting away with subverting the Constitution in that way and nobody is stopping them.

As far as the Second Amendment is concerned, they're fine with it when it protects them from the peasants, when it allows their inflated alphabet soup of storm troopers to arm up to the teeth, but shame on the peasants if they want to bear arms too. THAT can't be allowed to continue in their minds. They know full well though that repealing 2A is a bridge too far, so until they are stopped they will relentlessly continue doing what's been working for them all along.

Pay attention here^^^^^........ A Convention opens it all up for change, review, DELETION..... “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

That's totally ignored by the feds. How many agencies do we have that aren't delegated to the US by the constitution? Almost all of them.

This is where we are today. I would estimate 95% of the federal government is unconstitutional. The constitution does not give the federal government authority to require dating on packaged food products or regulate the education system. Just imagine if we could return to a constitutional government on January 1, 2024. How many people would be out of work and how many government agencies would vanish.

That nearly sounds like it's too big to fail.

Just the way the big govt sluts want it.
