24 yrs. ago today my mother passed........I think of her often.
So sorry to hear the bad news. My condolences to you and your family. I watched my dad shrivel up from cancer and die 28 years ago. It is very rough to lose your dad. Prayers coming your way.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers - it means a lot to me. Lotta' good hombres here on the 'fire. A feller couldn't ask for a better group of people to be able to call friends.
Dad was not in any pain as he passed, or indeed during the last week as he slowly declined. He went to sleep this past Monday and he only awoke briefly on Tuesday as I was at his side. I held his hand and said: Hi Dad. He slowly opened his eyes, slowly turned his head and looked at me. He smiled and then he fell back into that unresponsive sleep and did not awaken again.
Today, when we realized that his passing was imminent, we called my brother to tell him to come back since he had just left. Unfortunately, he arrived too late. I hope he doesn't regret that.
My daughter is flying in from EP tomorrow and we have many cousins flying in from the left coast, as well as our many local cousins, so we'll have plenty of family around.
Again, I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.
