At Bass Pro today I paid $98.00 after tax for 1,000 Federal Champion Small Pistol Primers. That sound about right?
Sadly, yeah. I bought some from midway for $87.99, but after shipping and hazmat fee, you are probably ahead.
See any large rifle?
that's with-in a dollar or two of what I'm seeing locally, but I'm not paying it.....yet....

I ran up to Grices in Clearfield a few weeks before Deer season.
Bought a thousand Winchester Large rifle for 95 dollars and tax.
Reon
Could use some cci 200s
Hundy for federal small rifle match at lgs a couple weeks ago.
They had some others but I just grabbed the small rifle for some winter loading.
Last time I bought primers they were $130.00 for a brick of 5,000 .

Is that Natchez price before hazmat, tax, shipping?

Did you buy them from Grog the caveman?
A box is 100, a brick is 1000, a sleave is 5000

I put it in the basket and with tax and shipping, this was the price:

"Total $97.98." So, exactly what I paid at Bass Pro Shops.
I got 2 100 round boxs of large rifle, today at Sportsmens ware house. In Traverse city. Michigan . CCI for $8.99 each plus tax. 1st large rifle primers iv seen in well over a year or so.
Hell yeah
On-line, I am seeing small pistol for about a nickel per pop, small rifle for under $0.07, large pistol running about $0.08 each and large rifle at no less than $0.12 each. Shipping and hazmat comes into play, though. If you buy a large enough quantity then shipping and hazmat aren't too bad.
I gotta buy a brick of 450’s before long.

Puckering……..

Yes, but if you buy 5000 you can divide the hazmat up between 5 boxes and your price comes out to around 75.00 a box and I'll guarantee you Midway ain't losing money at it. just keep in mind your local crooks are paying the same as midway and they are charging that much more.

These damn sporting goods stores are fuqking people over left and right for primers. I'm sick and tired of it so I quit buying anything from the local crooks and am ordering everything now, screw them!

Good points.
Bought a brick of cci small rifle BMs for 160.00 sunday at cabelas. Had only a 100 of the cci small rifle for 10.00, No large rifle, seemed to have a bunch of pistol primers.
Still using primers from the good ole days

Small pistol is my only real shortage

Been running Rem 7.5's (SR) in my 9mm striker/carbine loads

Have plenty of them

Although I did buy some SP primers last fall...about $95/brick delivered

Best way...buy haz mat products & split the fees with friends.......if you have any
I just gave $99.00 per thousand for CCI #450 out the door. I hated it but what are you going to do when you need them. I bought 5,000 for $84.00 per thousand with free ship and hazmat. I hated it but I like to shoot my 9mm pistol in club shoots. I paid $317.00 per 8 lb. of Sport Pistol. Prices are out of sight.
Triple to quadruple the price in 5 years. F that!

My next door neighbor is big into reloading. I could ask him if he wants to do that.
Cal Ranch had a 15% off anything you could fit inside of one of their 5 gallon buckets. I got 8# of H110, four 1# of CFE223 and two bricks of CCI #450s for $450. The primers were $60 a brick and I would have bought more if they had them. Everything else was $9 per 100 or more.

Its a no brainer

If you have SR primers (like me) & run a striker fired 9mm

Ruger PC Carbine..Rem 7.5's

Use the primer you have on the shelf

They are identical to size as a SP primer

Not the same with LP & LR primers

It bought today 2/7/24:

Federal Match Small Pistol $140.00/1000

Federal Match Small Pistol Magnum $110.00/1000

First Fed Match pistol primers I have seen in 3 years.

I’ve got a pretty good idea this “shortage” will quietly go away IF Trump is re-elected.
I genuinely believe it is BS gouging at the distributor and manufacturer level.

If prices do triple in the next five years, I’ve got a bass boat and a set of golf clubs that don’t get enough use…..

Federal small pistol primers $59 last September at Sportsmans in Bozeman. $64 per brick CCI 450's from Scheels about the same time.

Agreed, but just watch the next few years. Today's prices might look real good by then.

Not that it matters, but depends where you are from. Here a pack is 100, a brick is 1000, a case is 5000.

Last I checked here couple weeks back I could get WLR for either $75 or $77 a brick, I wasn't a buyer at that. Let them for somebody else, I got enough. Maybe they're not available anymore, dunno.

Sadly, you may be right. I have been saying for the last year that $50-60 a box for hunting ammo will be the new normal. The $9.99 a box days are LONG gone.

Wow!
I've bought quite a few Federal and cci small rifle and small pistol primers for $59/1000. That's the price I have a hard time passing up these days. I've seen others for $80-$120 and I pass on those.

Bb
I've been picking some up at Academy for $8.00 a hundred. I'm afraid that might be the norm.

Thanks Jog. As long as they work well I should be set!
Who's dumb enough to need primers in the last 23 years?

I stocked up Under President Ford.

Still have three quarters of that original hundred.

Really,

Only needs to shoot once t' fill a tag, right.
Miwall Corp is just about the cheapest I've found for Federal, 69 bucks a thousand, of course a bit cheaper by 5k.
I had not heard about Miwall Corp before. Solid company?

I just ordered 4,000 from them for $215.00 after tax, free shipping. You had a choice in shipping, Fed Ex for $20.00, UPS for $20.00, or Free Shipping. What service do they use for the free shipping if not Fed Ex or UPS? USPS??
Have not bought any for 8 years. A little low on small pistol but enough for now. I am crippled up now and not out shooting much. Been loading for my boys and the guns they will get when I leave this earth. Should have enough.
CCI 400/450 $75 per brick, CCI 200 $100 per brick if you can find them.

Amazing price. When was this?
locally they are about 80/1000. Large rifle is probably the one that gets sold out. Grice had a 1000/day limit only on large rifle, other primers are unlimited. I'm pretty sure you can only get one 8 pounder of powder per day. Typically the reloading sale is in a few weeks. I don't think they had reloading sale special for 2 years.
Ordered 4,000 from Norma yesterday, free shipping. Arrived today, via FedEx.
Bought some Winchester large pistol and small pistol primers at Cabelas just now for $89 per 1000.

Hodgdon BL-C(2) and HP-38 were $39 per pound.

What’s the difference in blue box Winchester primers and the red and silver boxes? I noticed the red/silver large pistol box isn’t marked “for standard and magnum loads” like the blue box.
