Those bastards finally did what I've been begging for them to do...

Ruger Hawkeye African .35 Whelen

https://www.lipseys.com/itemdetail?itemno=RUHM77RSB35WHLN
Why do you have to come here posting stuff like that when I just divested of all my .35 Whelen components??
Wow, I like that
If they would do it in stainless, I might be convinced to buy a Ruger.
Dang that is nice....
Go on buy it.
They have a stainless 77rsi in 6.5x55 and a an african in 22 hornet, according the lipseys website
You guys aren’t going to get any sympathy from me. I’ve had my own gun a month club going on for many years now……..so buy the damn thing and start looking for the next one lol!!!

Yes, that's an awesome chambering/rifle combo.

The perfect klipspringer rifle I never knew I needed...
I built pretty much that rifle about 15 years ago. It’s been a good companion on a bunch of adventures. I did use a SS barrel. [Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Washington is now trying to pass a one gun a month law. I usually come pretty close on a yearly basis, but I guess I'm gonna have to increase the gun budget a little more. After all, it's gonna be a law. Wouldn't want to break a law...
That looks classy.
That's a great looking rifle!
Wow, that would pair up nicely with the African in 6.5x55 I picked up a few years back.

Might have to scoot my Ruger M77RS 35 Whelen over to make room in the safe.

Guess I'll be calling my dealer today.

Thanks for sharing the information.

The struggle is real.
Buy it

What the he'll else ya gonna spend $1500 on, 3 trips to the grocery store?
It's a shame it's chambered in such a worthless cartridge
There is a 1000 worse ways to spend your $.

Lipsey’s has ruin a savings plan. Heard that from a friend. 😎

There are some gun purchases that are like money in the bank, and that's almost certainly one of them. They stop making that chambering/rifle combo, and the prices on the used ones are only going up.
I kinda wished I’d have grabbed a 9.3x62.

Absolutely no idea what for. Just a cool cartridge in a cool rifle.

Much the same with the Whelen version

Yep. Similar appeal, too.

Local shop has one of the 6.6x55s in stock. It looks sweet

Given a choice, I'd rather have that rifle in 9.3x62, but the .35 Whelen is pretty close, ballistically. I have no need for either, of course. Would be cool to own and shoot, though.
An African in Hornet ?
To rich for my blood
An African in Hornet ?

Amazing how some people love to stand in front of the entire World, with a "I'm and idiot" sign around their neck.

Yes it's a shame you do it so often
I’d love one of those in 9,3x62

While it is an one of my favorite calibers, its a heavy biotch! Damn near 8lbs naked which most will like Im sure, but I enjoy not lugging a 9lb setup around the woods scoped

I'm in that club as well, been thinking of looking for a 9.3x62 African for March.

Man, if there was a slap emoji, id be sending it your way haha
Mine is in transit.
Two O/U shotguns ago (almost a year) I thought was done buying guns......apparently I didnt Truly feel that way.

Now, I truly feel that way.
I put mine together 20 years ago or so using a factory M77 RS which came with a very slender barrel (.560" at the muzzle). I bedded it in a rough Bansner stock that I chopped the forend on to work with the barrel band sling attachment I added. Leupold 2-7X in their rings, filed in rear sight for the NECG sourdough front, matte blued. Pretty handy piece that has taken two black bear when I lived in Alberta, a northern BC moose and elk during the same period and a nilgai in south Texas.
