I won't touch the yellow paint unless it's an SME pass and safe to do so. Touching wheels to yellow paint (and the white stuff on the right) is a sign of poor discipline, sloppy driving. If you can't stay in your lane, you need work.
I have to at times. We're on a no shoulder two lane county road, and there are dough brains that insist on walking on the road. It's dangerous, and I am amazed that no one has been clipped yet.
My dad ran a crew that used to. The town had a small jeep-like vehicle for line painting. It was open sided, no roof and the operator would be hi on the paint fumes. Some of the lines sprayed were comical. The state painting vehicles had laser guided applicators. They could compensate over a foot left or right while you drove them.
Absolutely just being spiteful 😉 On Hwy 101 it’s narrow and windy with hardly any shoulder. You have to cross it constantly because of the spandex posse taking up a third of your lane. Before you get after Paul there’s a lot better place for these asshats to ride.
I've probably done it passing something slow like a farm tractor.
I hate doing it, but yes I've passed slow fu cks. Doesn't even have to be a piece of farm equipment. Some guy doing 30 in a 45, needs some passing. Stupid fu cks that impede traffic pizz me off.. Also, some roads are improperly marked with a double yellow center line. In areas where you can see a mile ahead, those solid lines should not be there.
Sometimes you need to cross the double yellow to get around slow moving vehicles like mail trucks, garbage trucks, tractors and 89 year old Mrs. Maude. It can be done safely. The double yellow is based on line of sight and the speed of traffic.
You guys do know that you're not going to prison for that if you get caught, right? You probably won't even get a look unless you are being reckless or cause an accident.
An awful lot of the old, short passing lanes that were on our secondary roads when I was a kid are gone. Guessing they were there to pass the gutless lod truck that existed then.
Guys argue with me about places that had them🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, I knew every place to pass for many miles. Didn't always wait for them, but knew where they were.
Our 16 year old daughter has been driving solo about a month, her mother says she is me without a wang. Really hope she doesn't try the crap I did. Attention, good reactions, the right quick decisions.....luck is why it never went bad. Gotta be 50 to get it, sure didn't as a kid. Figured I had it all under control.
The lines on the highway are like the chutes at the slaughterhouse. They keep the sheep in line.
Don't be a sheep. Or do. I hear there's a higher level of heaven for sheep that don't rock the boat and obey all the traffic laws. And an even higher one if you can force other people to follow them. I'm talking to you, left lane speed limit driver.
